It all comes down to one final game for the Philadelphia 76ers. A long and challenging season filled with ups and downs comes down to one game in the regular season finale on Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Sixers are currently 44-37 heading into the finale and still have a chance to get into the playoffs with a guaranteed spot. There are a number of scenarios that could happen for Philadelphia as it looks to build some momentum heading into the postseason. Now, whether it's a trip to the play-in tournament or straight to the playoffs remains to be seen.
Heading into the finale, the big teams to watch are the Orlando Magic and the Toronto Raptors. Here are the scenarios and what needs to happen in each for Philadelphia on Sunday:
Sixers: vs. Bucks
Magic: @ Celtics
Raptors: vs. Nets
6. Toronto Raptors 45-36 --GB (tiebreaker over ORL)
7. Orlando Magic 45-36 --GB
8. Philadelphia 76ers 44-37 1 GB
In this scenario, the Sixers would be the No. 6 seed as they hold the tiebreaker over both the Magic and the Raptors. Philadelphia would then advance to face the No. 3 seed New York Knicks in Round 1 and set up a rematch from the 2024 postseason.
The Sixers would remain the No. 8 seed and then hop on a plane to Orlando and face the Magic in the 7 vs. 8 play-in game. If the Sixers win that game, they would then be the No. 7 seed and take on the Boston Celtics in Round 1 of the playoffs.
If Philadelphia loses, then it will return home to take on either the Charlotte Hornets or the Miami Heat with the winner of that game then being the No. 8 seed and set up a Round 1 matchup with the Detroit Pistons.
In this scenario, the Magic would be the No. 6 seed with Philadelphia finishing No. 7 and Toronto dropping to No. 8. The Sixers would then host the Raptors in the 7 vs. 8 play-in game with the same results listed above. It would be great for Philadelphia to host the play-in game if it comes down to it instead of going on the road.
If this happens on Sunday, then Philadelphia would be the No. 7 seed. The Magic would drop to 8 and travel to the City of Brotherly Love for that aforementioned 7 vs. 8 play-in game.
If by the off chance the Sixers somehow lose to the Bucks on Sunday, then they will be the No. 8 seed. They cannot finish lower than 8 due to the tiebreaker they own over the Hornets.
