Cameron Jordan is the top New Orleans Saints free agent still on the market, but he doesn't lack for suitors -- just ask ESPN's NFL Nation beat reporter Nate Taylor, who covers the Kansas City Chiefs, and who says Jordan is in play for them. Jordan has made his priorities in free agency clear: he wants to be valued in his salary, he wants an opportunity to climb the all-time sacks leaderboard, and he'd like an opportunity to put a Super Bowl win on his resume, too. Where better to achieve those things than with the team that's appeared in five of the last seven title fights, winning three times?

Here's what Taylor had to say about Jordan in his Chiefs free agency recap:

Moving forward in free agency, the Chiefs are a possible destination for pass rusher Cameron Jordan, according to a league source. The 15-year veteran spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, recording 10.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Jones revealed that he was pitching the idea of Jordan, who's a free agent, joining the Chiefs by posting his name on his X account last week. If Jordan did join the Chiefs, he would give them a clear upgrade on the edge while playing on the opposite side of defensive end George Karlaftis.

Jordan did say he'd need some extra incentive to sign with a cold-weather team like the Buffalo Bills or Cleveland Browns, so it may take convincing to get him into infamously-freezing Kansas City. But the potential fit for him with the Chiefs, sharing a defensive line with Chris Jones and Karlaftis could be very appealing. Knowing that Patrick Mahomes is working his way back from a knee injury, maybe in time for a playoff push, also has to be a factor.

It would be painful, or at least surreal, to see Jordan wearing a different jersey than the black and gold he's worn while bringing down so many quarterbacks over the years. But the longer his free agency draws out, the less likely a return to New Orleans begins to feel. If the Saints wanted him back badly enough, wouldn't he have signed by now after seeing what's out there?
