Cameron Jordan's future with the New Orleans Saints may not be settled yet. Jordan is expected to travel to New Orleans this week and meet with the team as both sides continue working through his free agency, according to former Saints offensive lineman Terron Armstead on his The Set podcast.
“Cam Jordan will be flying to New Orleans tomorrow, going to the facility, planning to have a conversation,” Armstead said. “Nothing (is) set in stone, but the hope is alive that Cam Jordan will continue his career in black and gold. There’s still conversation to be had.”
Jordan's resume in New Orleans is among the best ever. He was selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft and became one of the most durable, productive, and respected players in franchise history. He developed into the face of the Saints' defensive front for more than a decade and was one of the defining players of the post-Super Bowl era in New Orleans.
The 36-year-old defensive end has remained unsigned deep into the offseason. Nothing is finalized, but Armstead's exclusive update is a positive sign that Jordan could return to New Orleans rather than finishing his career elsewhere.
“Cam Jordan belongs in black and gold,” Armstead said. “He should be in black and gold for the rest of his career. He’s a one-logo guy. That’s my opinion. That’s how I feel about it. I have nothing to do with how they get it done. I just hope that they get it done.”
While making a gueset appearance on The Set, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football added that, based on calls he made Monday, there is mutual interest in finalizing a deal for the 2026 season. A return would not just be a sentimental farewell tour; Jordan is coming off a season in which he recorded 10.5 sacks while playing 54 percent of the Saints' defensive snaps.
