Again, the warriors were the best team in basketball before he got there, maybe the best team ever, then they went on and won a title without him after he left.

He was window dressing on an already great team.

And sure... he was our "best player", while we as a team got much much worse while he was here. He puts up his points, he does his passive aggressive routine, 3 coaches get fired in about 28 months... but, he got his.

I don't think a team can win a title with him unless they are already capable of winning one without him. With the way he plays, there is no way he isn't going to lead his team in scoring, because he does not get involved without the ball.
You might be right but two finals MVP's 32ppg 10rpg 7ast 2 blks is some nice window dressing.

Yep. The Warriors felt like teams got better in the West and went after him because THEY felt based on their play they were missing something. He could have just coasted on that team but instead went out and got two Finals MVP's. He is too old now IMO to do that again but in the right situation he could make a difference. He just can't be your #1 which he was with the Suns even though he tried to defer to Book.

The Suns need to change the conversation.

It should be, since they do not like the trade offers they are receiving, they are keeping Durant.

Of course, no extension either.

Let that sink in, then see what happens.

None of these rumors/reports can be trusted, I don't care who it is.
that's where I'm at (unless it's shams) - my brain says there are only 3 logical choices given the criteria - both houston and minnesota could feel they are just a kd away but houston wants to lowball and kd publicly dissed minnesota - other remaining team is miami but they haven't been kicking up much dirt - i think they're biding their time

the interested parties have figured out they don't have to make a deal with the phoenix suns to get kevin durant - they only have to place the highest bid - and im using "highly" very loosely

what's hella sad is ish done stated he will ship kd wherever - so this has literally become a public auction and there are still a limited amount of bidders

and if they're watching it like an ebay auction they might be waiting till it's closer to draft day before dropping their final offer - because they could possibly get him cheaper if ish rushes into anything like he has in the past

part auction - part chess - part waiting contest

It might be similar to when they were trying to trade Bradley Beal… other teams be like… it's the Suns on the phone again.

We want quite a bit more for Durant than he's worth. Brooklyn wanted way too much for him too but they were patient and found a sucker willing to meet their ridiculous demands. I don't know if we have that kind of patience nor do I know if there's another first class sucker out there willing to bail us out.

I used to be a big KD guy but I grew to resent his passive aggressive mannerisms and non-existent leadership qualities. I do think his legacy is completely different if his Nets teammates don’t get down with injury in 2021. He’d have a title post-Golden St and wouldn’t have left two franchises in complete ruin. Very few top-15 players all time end up playing for 5 different teams.

had to happen eventually - even if only to force a better offer from houston but i think ant REALLY wants kd after nobody else could help him with scoring consistently during the playoffs

We will have to wait and see if Durant is willing to expand his list of preferred teams to Minnesota.

why take on trash and their salary - hang on to him win as many games as possible since Jerry Jones Jr traded away everything and see if you can move him at the deadline. Green from the Rockets is a ball hogging chucker... no thanks. Id KD does not move then his salary come off the books, find a way to dump the POS Beal and move on

Durant stands to lose almost a $124 million by not signing a two-year extension.

Yes, he could earn part of it back if he chooses free agency in 2026-27, but he stands to lose a huge portion of it.

Will it come to this? It's highly unlikely, but the Suns have leverage too if they play hardball.

Sure that's fair I am thinking next week but I would rather keep Durant than give him away

I hope it's done by the draft. I think offers could increase if the Suns hold strong and show some signs they won't accept a bad deal just to get a deal.

I wish I had more trust in those making the decisions but I could say that about virtually everything outside of my own household right now so hope is all I'm left with. Something has to work out, right?

Good to see you popping in to talk Suns though. Hope all is good with you and yours.

It's unknown where Durant will be traded at the moment, but media vibes seem to be trending towards the Heat.

He seems to fit their timeline better.

It seems that way but with the finals today nothing will happen trade wise until Monday at the earliest. It sure appears to be stalled.
