That has always been my thought as well.It seems that way but with the finals today nothing will happen trade wise until Monday at the earliest.

It seems that way but with the finals today nothing will happen trade wise until Monday at the earliest. It sure appears to be stalled.
Now that he's gone, a more accurate picture of everything can be examined. I imagine some old timers might say selecting heads and losing the Kareem coin flip was the worst decision but I feel like the KD trade was the worst decision in franchise history. Absolutely decimated the team for a decade, at least.
I feal it was the Beal trade. KD played to his level here. Beal has been hurt, and inconsistent at best. Plus that move put us over the second apron. Had we not made that trade, there is a possibility KD may have worked out for us. With that trade, we blew any chance of anything working. Now that he's gone, a more accurate picture of everything can be examined. I disagree. No one held a gun to our head to trade CP3, or even to trade him for Beal. Beal was the deal that killed everything. The price of the Beal trade was negligible compared to KD's and we wouldn't have been in the same spot where Beal was looked at as an option if we hadn't made the KD trade. Trading for KD cut the brake lines and Beal was an object in the road we couldn't avoid.

I disagree. If we hadn't traded for KD, we STILL could have traded for Beal. There is no scenario that says, you brought in KD so now you HAVE to have Beal. The two trades have to stand on their own. In my mind the Beal was the worst of the two.I'm not saying we had to make that trade but it wasn't something that would have been available had we not traded for KD. There is no Beal trade if we hadn't made the KD trade first. Beal wouldn't have been on the radar at all.

KD and Booker would never had called Beal had not the front office asked them to get Beal to come to PHX. This is still on the front office. It was still a bad trade. Even if we didn't have KD, they could have asked Booker to call Beal to come here. I think trying to blame KD for the Beal trade is backwards logic at best. We could have just as easily had Booker and KD call a big man, or a 3 and D wing. There was no need for Book and KD to call Beal unless the front office told them to do it. They could have just as easily called Lebron.KD and Booker called Beal to get him to consider Phoenix. I think you're ignoring or not aware of what led Beal to think Phoenix was a place to go. He was headed to either Milwaukee or Miami once he spoke with Washington about trading him. He had the ability to dictate his destination because of his no trade clause. The Suns wouldn't have needed Beal if we still had a complete team but we traded half the rotation for KD and got exposed vs Denver. Help was needed but there were no viable options to improve considering the lack of resources we had to make something happen. There are so many parts of the Beal trade though that were directly linked to the fact we gave up the farm for KD.

Just saying, I have heard stories about guys saying they wanted to play together and it never happened way more than it actually happening. Why? Front offices have to make it work. Sure players probably say it at the end of games all the time when we see them talking to each other. How many times does it actually occur? I am betting that percentage is in the single digits. Is it a players league, a stars league, a mix, or are front offices calling all the shots? It sounds like you believe the front offices are pulling the strings and I disagree wholeheartedly. Did Pat Riley orchestrate the Big 3 in Miami or did Lebron, Bosh, and Wade lie about making a pact at the Olympics? That moment showed stars everywhere what leverage they had.
It sucks because we are back on the trade market watch again.
better than watching the games - more hopeful at least? It sucks because we are back on the trade market watch again.

Sadly, that would be one of the best defensive teams we've ever seen in Phoenix.Keepers:

The rest we fill out with athletic 3/4's and/or 4/5's.
KD in Phoenix was so frustrating - lack of awareness, took so many plays off, lazy turnovers, and more concerned about social media than playing well.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
