word is oso is working on a mid range jumper - which would be cool but again we don't depend on oso for mid range jumpers - we already have players who we depend on with the mid range - we depend on oso for other things - if i had to choose between a jumper or another 10 pounds i'd probably take the 10 pounds because we depend on oso setting picks and establishing position under the basket

gotta do better with them free throws tho

Agree. His free throw shooting needs to improve. It was only .453 this past season, a regression.

Wasn't that the narrative last summer as well? I hope it's true, but it certainly wasn't last year.

i think oso improved leaps and bounds this year but could use some more size
Curious about your leaps and bounds comment. Other than better durability, what other parts of the game did improve so much?

He's always been a good passer with good vision and even as a rookie, his decision making was good. So I would say a little improvement, so wondering where "leaps and bounds" comes from?

What? That's the exact opposite of what I said.

If you don't want to talk and instead be passive aggressive, fine.
this thread is full of his noted improvements and big games - and posters who've changed their opinions on him watching him going from g-league / banished on the bench to a legit player - i don't have to get into how he started with driving to his left on layups to finishing them with dunks- and how he then started going to his right once defenders only played him to the left - we won't get into how he improved consistently on defense - taking nick richards' job in the process or how he played against the nba's best when mark williams was out - and actually held his own on some nights - ott even chose oso over a healthy williams to close games on more than a few occasions - but sure chap - he improved just a little bit - nothing to see here - and the contract being on the cheap definitely matters especially in our cap battered bradley bealed situation - oso isn't just a + on the court he's a + all the way around - minus the jumpshot several centers don't have - geez bro

The narrative in this thread is wild.

This guy was a 2nd round pick... and was one of the most important players on a team that we all agree vastly over achieved, and... somehow he's part of the problem?

I would love if he could shoot, even without shooting he's a good role player, and he's still got 2 years left on a league minimum contract.

Oso is a decent backup. If MW could stay healthy and play like he started out last year, we should try to keep him, but I feel we need a new starting C. Is it Maluach so soon? If Oso starts we won't win many games. So I guess we only can afford backup C's or maybe trade Grayson Allen etc.

Does Oso belong in the league? Sure. He's a 12th man on a good team, as his skill set currently exists. He's maybe a 9th man on a mediocre team.

The fact that as he's currently viewed as a rotation player for the Suns is a problem for the Suns.

Look, I really want him to improve and get a shot, but he is absolutely a rotation player.

My problem with Oso, is that I'm not sure he will improve in any substantial way from this point forward.

oso has 2 years left at 2+ million per year and i like how it's playing out time wise - i think they said we recently guaranteed the remainder so he's here on the incredibly cheap

i'm hoping maluach starts and oso is the #2

i'm expecting rasheer to run the 5 when small (his 3 ball is nice)

we sign a durable league minimum vet center who hopefully barely sees any time

oso might start tho - he's the most familiar with the system and roster - ott trusts him

i don't see mark williams here this year - have to develop maluach - prepare him for the playoffs
