There is a decent chance that our draft position moves up to top 5 this week.

- We will likely lose to the Rams.
- NYJ over Miami.
- Washington over Minnesota.
- Cleveland over Tennessee.

As I have stated before though, I would rather us beat the Rams.
Yes top 5 is about as good as it’s gonna get for us. Now we need to make sure we don’t screw up by beating Atlanta…That’s the only winnable game left.

The Vikings are a pretty remarkable example of completely blowing it and they might luck out. They have a playoff roster, especially on offense but even on defense but their QB decision made the offense so bad they can't win. They had apparently decided last preseason that McCarthy was the starter, he got hurt so they went to with Darnold and he's been lights out since but they let him walk because they still thought JJ was better. He's been horrible, the replacement UDFA Brosner threw 4 picks in his debut including one of the worst panic throw pick sixes you'll ever see. If they lose out they have a shot at getting a high enough pick to get a QB, or they can get one via trade or FA and immediately become a playoff team.

But man you have to wonder how they were so wrong they chose JJ over Darnold, twice.

Does show how hard it can be though. We had both Kyler and JB in the same camp and preseason and came away convinced Kyler was the guy just like they did with JJ over Darnold.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler posted a mock draft today, and in contrast to the one Nick Baumgartner posted a week ago, this time there were two trades for QBs and the Cardinals, picking 8th, didn't take one. (Baumgartner used The Athletic's NFL Simulator to project draft order, while it appears that Brugler used the current standings. Well almost - he has the Jets and Commanders swapped. Regardless, the Athletic's NFL Simulator also has the Cardinals projected to pick 8th.)
1. Cleveland Browns (from TEN)*: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana
2. Las Vegas Raiders (from NYG)*: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon
3. New Orleans Saints: Arvell Reese, edge/LB, Ohio State
4. New York Giants (from LV)*: Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
5. Tennessee Titans (from CLE)*: Keldric Faulk, edge, Auburn
6. Washington Commanders: Rueben Bain Jr., edge, Miami
7. New York Jets: Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State

8. Arizona Cardinals: David Bailey, edge, Texas Tech
Although slightly undersized, Bailey would give head coach Jonathan Gannon both length and juice screaming off the edge. He was a much-improved run defender this season, leading the FBS in pressures (70) and sacks (12.5) during the regular season.

9. Los Angeles Rams (from ATL): Spencer Fano, OT, Utah
10. Cincinnati Bengals: Caleb Downs, S, Ohio State

Bad selection, far greater needs.

4th edge, 3rd qb or #1 tackle. Duh!
