just thought I would get this out there early

IF the Cards are drafting 7 or so and cant trade up for a QB

the highest impact player on the board when they come to draft is likely................. Jeremiyah Love, RB ND

take the next four and half months to prepare yourself mentally.

You’re forgetting that Trey Benson will save us.

Who were #1 and #2? I know about the guy from Chicago who interviewed....
If I remember correctly Adam Peters from the Niners interviewed or it was discussed and he passed

I was pushing for him and for MB to throw the money at him to convince him he was serious

None of us know what really went on

He's now in charge of the Skins

I hope our scouting department has improved. I worry more about the data input to Monti and not so much the draft day moves up or down.

Just released that Chris Bell from Louisville tore his ACL. Bell will come out so he’s sure to drop. Projected as a round 1 pick by some I’d grab him in round 3 if he’s there. He’ll miss most if not all of next season, but he’s a Boldin-like talent.

in the 35 years the cardinals have been here - all of our good qbs have been thirty something - every single one of them - aka both of them
Neil Lomax was 29 in 1988 the Cardinals first year in Arizona.

Rosenbach had no support but certainly a hard nosed talent.

Reclamation projects, both warner and palmer supports your statement. Not a fan of a first round QB.

With no second contract for Kyler we could have been in play for Stafford or Darnold.

Let’s focus on building the rest of the team and less on an obviously elusive franchise QB.

At this stage of my life, a relevant team would provide comfort.

According to The Athletic's simulator, the Cardinals can still get the #1 pick if:
- Cardinals lose next week
- Jets, Raiders, Browns, and Giants win next week over the Bills, Chiefs, Bengals, and Cowboys, respectively
- and then some games that affect strength of schedule: Bears > 49ers tonight, and next week Patriots > Dolphins, Vikings > Packers, and Bears > Lions.

There are other combinations that work also, but this was the fewest number of outcomes that would make it happen. E.g. if the Jets lose to the Bills next week, then the Cards need Falcons > Rams, Broncos > Chargers, and Jaguars > Titans. But if the Giants lose to the Cowboys, there's no combination of other games that can make it happen.

EDIT: Oof, the 49ers win over the Bears tonight seems to have killed any possibility of the Cards getting the #1 pick.

NFL use of SOS as tiebreaker is such BS. Because the Big Red play in such a strong division they always get penalized in draft order. It should be head to head results and point differential if NFL wants to give the worst teams the earliest picks. Does the NFL really think that the three other 13 loss teams are worse than the Big Red? Talk about a cursed organization making awful decisions. There were five plans for NFL realignment involving the Big Red with the 1970 merger. There is a wikipeadia article if you want to read more. Two had Big Red in NFC Central. STL, Dallas, GB, Chicago and STL, GB, Chicago and Detroit. There was one Big Red in the West. STL, Dallas, LA, SF. There were two for the East with one chosen STL, Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia and NYG. Cant recall other East proposal. So the alignment required Bidwill to agree. He wanted the Big Red in the East. So with that decision went oldest NFL rivalry with Bears that started in 1920 predating Chicago and GB by one year. It also meant the Big Red playing in the hardest division in football in the 70s and 80s against teams with much deeper pockets. So now they are in the West and hardest division in football with NFC East is not nearly as strong. I like the Central including Dallas. With closer rivals and more similar economics than the East teams who knows if they had not remained. So I digress but SOS is BS in draft order.

I fully expect we’ll be locked in at 5 at this point barring a miracle. The Raiders will get the quarterback they want so the question is do you pay the ransom to the giants to leapfrog the Jets. I doubt it will be worth it. I also don’t think there will be many teams looking to come up so we’re probably stuck at 5.
