watched way less college ball this year but I don't get why Reese is rated ahead of Ruben Bain Jr? Bain to me is better, 30 pounds heavier and much stronger. Guess it depends on coaching change again if we're playing the same defense, seems to me Bain fits us better. I know they are technically not the same position and I'd be ok with either but I think Bain is better.

If there's a QB there we probably take em but it's an interesting situation we desperately need OL and I don't think there's an OL worth a top 5 pick so I can call it already we don't get the QB, move down to get the RT and whoever we trade with takes Bain or Reese and they become a star.

Edit I just read Bain had a significant calf injury as a soph that slowed him. Since our last 2 first rounders on DL had calf injuries as rookies I guess that makes Bain a pass.

We need a RT or a QB and I don't love any of the QB's and suspect we'll be picking too early for a RT so moving down seems like a thing

Bain is going #1 on most mock drafts

Ok maybe I misread it but the one posted here had him as the 3rd Defensive player picked, I think he's the best prospect I've seen this year but admittedly haven't watched a ton of college ball this year

What sucks is the year we need a qb all the top mock drafts have 3 going off the board before AZ is on the clock at pick 7…They will be forced to go OT

I'm very hesitant on Moore. Simpson from highlights seems good but I haven't watched Alabama. I like Mendoza but he never struck me as a top 5 pick.

We need a Qb but we desperately need a Rt and at least one guard and I think if we're in the top 5 we'd be reaching to take any of the T's

Mendoza is everyone’s QB 1. Moore seems like a low floor/high ceiling type of player. If he comes out someone will be intrigued by him.

The #1 linked player I’m seeing mocked to the Cards is Utah RT Spencer Fano

If we are drafting a qb then we will fill the rt spot and perhaps guard in free agency.

Bain struggles to get to the QB

People are catching on to draft production from pass rushers over just traits.

1st round OT Frank Mauigoa
2nd round C Jake Slaughter
Move Froholdt to Guard
3rd Round Sam Leavitt and let him learn under Brissett.
Add a guard and RB in free agency.

I wouldn’t be mad at this, but unfortunately I don’t think Sam Leavitt is coming out. Most college qbs are inclined to stay and take NIL money and honestly I can’t blame them…it’s like a rookie-lite contract before they even get to the NFL.

not just pff rankings but actual passes defended - tds given up - this isn't some bloated fro ranking
Passes defended are subjective also. These ranking are almost all from observation. I think we need to consider all evaluations as worthy of evaluation. If someone looks good on one evaluation they probably accomplished something of useful.

Decent strategy, but I suspect they move up to take a QB. I expect them to offer their 2026 & 2027 firsts plus additional picks.

He should be the first to go on defense.

I don’t have the gaps between them and others as big as most evaluators. It wouldn’t shock me if the Cards see it that way, move down, take an OT or WR and a QB in round 2 with the OT the most likely round 1 choice.

He comes out and needs to really work on building up his body. He has enough frame to add more muscle and needs to do so to survive.

Problem moving Froholdt is he’s a lousy drive blocker. He can pull and is surprisingly good hitting people on the move but he struggles to dislodge anchoring tackles.
