obviously im not advocating waiting until the 7th round, or for an UDFA...just pointing out the glaringly obvious to anyone who actually pays attention...the individual and how he fits your team...along with how well you develop his skills...is far more important than his college success...and all these internet gurus are just parroting each other after looking at box scores.....
with a pro scouting department at our disposal I would hope we have a guy or two doing a deep dive on Quarterbacks outside the media darlings and big names.
Nothing can ruin a discussion like rationality.

Way too many completely ignore the importance of culture, infrastructure, system and so on. Most people think it is just a matter of putting any good player into your team, and then you are set up for success. By the way, that is also what happens when a team drafts a guy that Mel Kiper and Daniel Jeremiah ranks differently. Even those guys (and multiple other analysts) keep pointing out that their rankings are misleading, people still think that they know exactly what will fit into their team.

Say that Kyler Murray moves on to another team and becomes a stud. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the Cardinals’ coaches are incompetent, There is more to it than just that.

Anyway, now I am ranting. Thank you for bringing up this point.

This franchise set us back when they signed Kiem and Kliff but then Kyler after 1 year of modest success and getting blown out in the playoffs.

this won't be popular at all but draft o-line in the first round this year - suck again in 2026 with the new staff installing it's new team identity - see what qbs are available in 2027
And run with Brissett next year?
You’re right I don’t like it.

Get ready to learn Arvell Reese.
He's had a meteoric rise and a great year. He really hadn't done too much previously. For some reason, I'm skeptical but maybe, with the right coaching, he hit his stride and will continue to be great.

He’s a great player but I can’t see how they ignore the offense if they intend to move their competitiveness forward.

If we don’t go quarterback how about fano or Francis with our first….then Gennings dunker or Blake miller in the second? The plan would be run the ball….play great defense with a healthy team ….have Jacoby not be in intensive care by week 4

Shouldn't we do the Bruce Arians' strategy and target/draft a QB every draft until you get one right? ;)
Theres just no time to develop QBs in the NFL anymore. Much less multiple ones.

Cards only needed to develop Clayton Tune, had two years to do so, and ended up with a guy still on Green Bay’s practice squad. Didn’t even have an interest in coming back to our practice squad.

No problem using a pick every other year tho. Would love the Cards to hire a coach whose sole responsibility is developing the young QB, but we don’t hire coaches with any experience.

The time when they weren’t cheap?

Michael learned his lesson there didn’t he?

Giants do not need a QB lol, not even a maybe

Its the Giants, thats why I put maybe. I hope for or sake, they are sold on Dart. The good news is if the Dart is the guy, they should win a few more down the stretch.

You don’t have to hope for. They are sold on him. A lot of people in the media are. We don’t have to worry about them drafting a QB.

Crap… we’re still only 7th?! I don’t know how the Saints/Cleveland are maybes/???. Both of those teams are completely QB poor and likely to take one before us. Same with the Jets.

Man… that’s three teams we gotta leapfrog with losses. Saints and Cleveland prob aren’t happening. Jets could.

Go look at the Saints remaining schedule. They absolutely could steal a few wins.

Maybe, just maybe, one of those would take an interest in Murray…
