Nothing can ruin a discussion like rationality.obviously im not advocating waiting until the 7th round, or for an UDFA...just pointing out the glaringly obvious to anyone who actually pays attention...the individual and how he fits your team...along with how well you develop his skills...is far more important than his college success...and all these internet gurus are just parroting each other after looking at box scores.....
with a pro scouting department at our disposal I would hope we have a guy or two doing a deep dive on Quarterbacks outside the media darlings and big names.
Way too many completely ignore the importance of culture, infrastructure, system and so on. Most people think it is just a matter of putting any good player into your team, and then you are set up for success. By the way, that is also what happens when a team drafts a guy that Mel Kiper and Daniel Jeremiah ranks differently. Even those guys (and multiple other analysts) keep pointing out that their rankings are misleading, people still think that they know exactly what will fit into their team.
Say that Kyler Murray moves on to another team and becomes a stud. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the Cardinals’ coaches are incompetent, There is more to it than just that.
Anyway, now I am ranting. Thank you for bringing up this point.
