There are tons of tickets being sold on Ebay, Stubhub, Ticket Exhange, Craigslist, etc. They have a huge markup.

Tickets in section 406 with a $40 face value are going for $299 and $306 on Stubhub. You can bet these are Vikes' fans paying this kind of money.

Since most of the seats belong to STHs, it will be painful to see how many of them are occupied by purple.

I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do with their tickets, but I don't want our stadium to look at all purple on national TV.

The fact that AZ is a place a lot of midwesterners want to go in December doesn't help... But it's a big game against a top conference contender. I would think that would cause a lot of fans to hold onto their tickets this year.

There are a ton of Minnesotta snow birds in town and I expect a lot of them to be at the game. All that means is that everyone wearing Cardinal red is just going to have to be louder. I mean LOUDER! No, LOUDER!!

For me it comes down to paying for playoff tickets or going to this game. Playoff tickets win. If Cards fans are willing to pay 5x face value like the Vikings fans they are more then welcome to my tickets. I hate the fact the USPS is going to be full of Vikings fans on a Sunday night, but to me playoffs are more important. Personally I feel we were put in a tough spot by the Cards requiring full payment on the playoff tickets by 12/10, its a lot of cash to come up with, especially this time of year, to me there really was no other option. I'm not sure what I would have done if there this game wasnt such a big ticket.

You make a very good point. No one can blame you for doing what's best for you. They are your tickets that you paid for. We're just saying it is unfortunate we will be sitting with a ton of Vikings' fans in STHs seats.

I'm sure many Cardinals fans are struggling with this dilemma.

Dunno if anyone has noticed but at all 4 home games I have attended so far this year there has been rather large empty spots througout the stadium in the upper deck and club level.

Wasn't the same last season. So I'm assuming that those are pockets of seats that are owned by brokers. This means IMO that while the stadium is sold out not enough Cards fans are buying the tickets on gameday. I'm one of those that thoughtvsuccess would change that but it hasen't. You can bet your azzes that all of those empty pockets will be chalk full of vikes fans on that Sunday night. It's inevitable.

i understand what you are saying....i just i dont agree with you thats all, without our support we/you might not make the playoffs.

scalpers buy blocks of seats to make money, i get it, look without them doing it i dont get to see the Eagles game last year. What i dont agree with is our FANS selling tickets to away fans. I just dont agree with it.

I know this debate comes round every year but I am still to find one good reason for doing it other than £££ (sorry make that $$$) or in some cases pure greed.

Not only the empty seats, but I see different people around me each game. There are not pockets of brokers but tons of them. All it takes is a couple of high-profile games for snowbirds and they can make up their investment in 1 game (vikings) and profit on the 2nd (packers).

Fans don't sell tickets to away fans - they sell to who is willing to pay a cost

and $$$ is the only reason one has to have to sell them

I'll never get on anyone for selling some games - if that is what they need to do to enjoy the other 7 regular season games, so be it

these things aren't cheap and it's a pure business for everyone involved - it should be for the fans as well

personally the only time I would consider selling a seat at auction is if the quality of team versus the $$$ to be made doesn't equate .... It's not all the time you get to see a team like the vikings, colts, etc ... these are good teams

But i'd rather watch the texans play than the cowboys or bears .... however, you'd be hard pressed to get face value for the texans and could easily obtain 2x face for either of the others

there is an opportunity cost as well - some fans are chosing to not watch the vikings so they can watch the rams, seahawks, niners, panthers and maybe a playoff game or two - to some that's worth it, so some it's not

A vikings team that has old timers that watched them lose 4 superbowls, travels very well.As they did'nt even win their playoff game last year. You can count again on seeing a very purple crowd this year again.

I'm gonna hate it and a lot will be said about it on National tv but the economy has hit ARIZONA worse than Minnesota obviously. They will be there in droves. They have always traveled well.Plus I'll bet many already live there too.

Just like in Florida.WE get snowbirds all winter long every year.It helps the economy greatly.Even though they are the slowest drivers in the world to the point of being dangerous and they are very, very cheap.I'm talking about canadians though. Not minnesotan's.Don't know them.Don't mean to call all canadians cheap.Just the ones who come to this part of Florida.

I don't know how they get here driving 10 miles an hour either?:D

Just hope we get credit for winning the 9th away game on the schedule.

There are different people around me all the time. I am definitely moving my seats next year because it is becoming unenjoyable at times.

Being at last year's Vikings game was awful. And the last time Farve played us he put up huge numbers. I am not looking forward to this game at all.

I can totally understand people selling tickets to this game to buy playoff tickets, pay bills or get gifts for the holidays.

I bought em, ill do whatever I want with em.

Sure it is annoying seeing lots of opposing fans but big whoop, no need to get high and mighty on people. Lets see, 75 bucks a ticket all season and this game sells for 300+? I cant blame anyone for selling a ticket, it is almost as good watching from home anyway.

There are 2 seats next to me that have not once had anyone sitting in them this season. Guarantee some purple clad geezers will be in those seats that night. They will not appreciate the signs I am making.

I hate to say it but I couldn't pass up the extra money. Got my playoff ticket statement in the mail the other week and really didn't have the money on hand to cover them at the time. Blew all of my savings last year going to the Super Bowl. By selling the tickets to this one game I was able to cover the entire price of the playoff ticket package.

I'm not sure how they get the car backed out of the garage and pointed south.

as i said i can understand why folk do it, i just dont happen to agree - hardly 'high and mighty' is it and sorry if it comes across that way.

each to their own and with finances being as they are i can understand it even more. Its just not something i would do and for the sake of my team i dont think its a bad thing.

Heres one to bake your noodle, if those selling tickets didnt sell tickets and went to the games those tickets would be worth even more and you could sell them ;)

I couldn't look myself in the mirror if I sold my seats, but that's just me.

I've missed two preseason games since the team moved here - both due to deaths in the family.

Vacation plans are made around home games.

BIM and Mrs. BIM will be there.

It's just like the old joke -
It's not the determination of your ethics*, it's just a matter of the price.

the reality is this:

there are probably 30% of the season ticket holders who could be considered "casual fans"

They are fans of the Cardinals, but aren't hard cores. To them, selling their tickets for 3x face (effectively paying for a lion share of their playoff tickets) and watching it from home is a no-brainer.

I used to think it was about the demographics of the area and the fact that the team hadn't won.

Now I am not so sure -- I think its a reflection of the Phoenix collective attitude. We are much, much more laid back on life in general that those back east. I think it shows up in the depth of conviction (on average) of sports fan-dom. San Diego, Atlanta, Tampa all have had identical issues-- a mix of a transplant community and a laid back lifestyle.

You're absolutely right, as usual, and its true across the board Shane. The Broncos played the Steelers on Monday night football earlier this month when they were 6-1. The stadium was infested with thousands of terrible towels. So much that the MNF crew commented on it several times.

The Broncos have sold out every game for many years and have a 15 year long waiting list!!!
http://to.denverbroncos.com/waiting_list

It's gonna happen, we just gotta do our job as fans and hope our team does their job on the field. If all goes well the Viqueen fans that are there will be gone by the start of the 4th.:bang:
