Do you guys understand how big a pick up Manning would be?

I know....another Manning thread....Hey...you know me...I like beating a dead horse. But anyway...

Mike and Mike this morning just said the team that is really picking up steam and a place where Manning would fit great is Arizona.

Adam Shefter is tweeting that the Reich hire is a big tell.

But the whole scheme of things.... Do you realize how much this would bring to the Arizona Cardinals. I was stoked when we signed Edge a few years ago. I was pretty happy when we signed Warner.

This would be on par or might even surpass signing Fitzgerald to the huge extension. And I love Fitz.

But getting Manning and if he is healthy....WOW!!!!!!!!!! I think it is going to happen.

In fact..I will say it. I guarantee...Manning will be a Cardinal!!!

Since Manning is my favorite non-Cardinal player since Walter Payton, it does mean I would have to find a new favorite non-Cardinal...I think I could manage.

To me the Frank Reich hire is near perfection. Many say that he will actually coach QB's, but in my opinion, he is the perfect person to teach our receiving corps all the nuances of Peyton Manning's pre-snap reads and calls. That is where the biggest learning process would have to occur in my estimation, should Manning become a Cardinal.

It's not something I've thought of during this entire Manning to AZ discussion, but as I recall, Peyton and Edgerin James were pretty close. I'd imagine those two would talk prior to Peyton seriously considering us as an option.

I also think that bodes well for us. As I recall, we pretty much gave EJ the run of the place during his tenure, even putting some of his uniform tweeks onto the field (change to all red socks was Edge's suggestion). I think the TV's and sound system in the locker room were recommended (and maybe even paid-for) by James as well.

I still don't want to set myself up for the disappointment of not even being in the running, but it's getting hard to ignore the real possibility of it happening.

I really havent.. I have no idea where his health is at. I will analyze it once/if he signs with the Cardinals... No need in every waking moment thinking about it.. I have actually turned off sports radio cuz Im tired of hearing about it..

What's elegant about the hire is the flexibility it gives us - since both McNulty and Reich have coached receivers and quarterbacks.

i.e. If Peyton comes here, Reich becomes our QB coach. If not, Reich remains our receivers coach and McNulty grooms our young QB's.

In other words, our coaching staff is well-positioned for either contingency and Wiz & the FO can now refocus on free agency and the draft.

So you are saying that our wide receivers would be coached by someone familiar with Peyton Manning, and Peyton Manning would be coached by someone familiar with our wide receivers? Sounds like an intriguing plan to build chemistry.

eh, I give us a 20% chance of signing him. At this point, I can't see any better than that. Most other "favorites" have as good of a pitch as us, and in the end, it will come down to where Manning wants to go.

IMO he's done & not worth the gamble to possibly wait for until 2013 if ever again! How many 37 yr old QBs have ever won a SB?

The Jets don't make sense to me. Of all the QB's on those teams only Sanchez has a decent future. Maybe Kolb if he can get it together. If your the Jets, unless you think Sanchez is a bum, why demote a promising young guy who needs work for an aging Manning?
