On the basis of . . . good pitching beats good hitting . . .
And with our top two starters among the worst on the staff
-- Bumgarner's fast ball has lost its zip
-- Robbie Ray can't go more than five innings
And our relievers sub-par
Even if some of our hitters continue their recent practice of
not lifting everything into the air and hitting against the shift
to get on base and stealing bases
I see us just missing the playoffs. But it is such a fine point
that the +/- makes it a guess.
Rather than . . . will we be a playoff team . . . I am more concerned
with . . . will we be worthy of reaching the playoffs . . . and develop
a rotation that will see us improve every season?
