The High Point-Thomasville HiToms will host the sixth annual Triad Kick-Off Classic on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and Friday, Aug. 14, at the High Point Athletic Complex.
Teams from 13 area high schools plan to participate: Bishop McGuinness, Glenn, Southwest Guilford, East Davidson, Thomasville, Ledford, TW Andrews, High Point Central, High Point Christian, Ragsdale, Southern Guilford, Southeast Guilford and Jordan-Matthews.
The full slate of times and matchups will be released later. The jamboree will feature a pair of hour-long, split-field matchups each night. Action will begin at 6 p.m. — varsity on the main AJ Simeon Stadium field, JV on the adjacent Aderholdt Track field.
This year’s event introduces cheerleading exhibitions on Friday at 5:30 p.m. There will also be football skills challenges in between each night’s scrimmages featuring a quarterback challenge, big guy sprint and field-goal kicking.
The High Point Athletic Complex is at 2920 School Park Road, near the North Main Street exit from Interstate 74.
