LOCAL ROUNDUP: Area athletes, coaches earn NC Soccer Coaches Association honors

TRIAD — The North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association has announced its All-State and All-Region awards following the conclusion of the 2026 season.

Athletes and coaches from the Enterprise’s coverage area totaled nine All-State honors and 32 All-Region awards.

The ceremony for the girls all-state awards will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at West Forsyth.

HITOMS FALL TO MACON

THOMASVILLE — The High Point-Thomasville HiToms lost 6-5 against the Macon Bacon in Coastal Plain League baseball Monday at Finch Field.

Carson Cabbage doubled, homered and drove in two for the HiToms (3-2), who trailed 6-3 in the seventh but scored twice in the ninth to pull within reach. Sam Laux and Ryan Allen each added a hit and an RBI.

Caleb Crain took the pitching loss, striking out three in two innings.
