Has anyone mentioned his name as a possible HC candidate? Obviously, this is assuming Wilks is shown the door. But DB has had a lot of success in this league with the Vikings and Seahawks...at least technically speaking. He's been the OC of some very good offenses but I don't know if that was in title only. I also don't know why he's out of football right now. Or is according to Wikipedia. He's only 48 and spent a lot of time coaching for Pete Carroll. Who, love him or hate him, knows how to build a franchise.

I really wish you would have hired him the last time he interviewed down here.

But no, the Bidwills don't care about the local guy and went and hired Arians instead.

I mean, I really wish the Cardinals had made that hire

Why? I ask because it reads like you might be sarcastic.

Yep. One who was over Bevell about a week after he was hired.

At one point I was if the thought he may make a better HC than coordinator, but that ship sailed years ago

Bevell is a coach who isn't dumb, he's just not smart.

Football happens in theory, on a chart and should follow a script.

If they show "X", then we do "Y".

Never dictate, never impose, never adjust on the fly if it isn't working.

Just keep dialing up the same not great stuff.

If a play doesn't work, it's 100% the execution - every time

The actual capabilities of what the players can execute and the relative strengths and weaknesses within a game are not relevant.

I'm not over the moon with Schotty, but it's night and day. Last week against Catholina the Panthers sold out on the run and had injuries in the secondary. Corn Elder was having a rough game for them. So Seattle attacked him. Carolina moved him around, Seattle found him and attacked some more. When Carolina was forced to overcompensate with help, Seattle attacked where the help cheated from.

That type of strategy had been missing for a long time.

Nothing groundbreaking - but an adjustment Bevell wouldn't have made

That's also just the surface with that guy

Well, I'll have to defer to people who have watched him but his numbers for the Vikings and Seahawks were decent enough. Seemed to usually be in the top half of the league in points and yards. Former QB HC's are doing pretty well right now too.

Oh well, just an idea.
