If we don't get Mendoza, we ain't winning now. Probably aren't even if we do get him.
We ain't winning til the oline is at least decent. Mendoza is going to the Raiders anyways so he will not be tradable. I'll make a point to DISAGREE since you seem to often.

Okay, I'm going off the wall with this one today. You know me; my CV on trading back for "moar picks" is well known. Assuming we can't/won't trade up for Mendoza, what should we do at #3? My suggestion, if we don't stick and pick, is to go all in on 2027. I don't mean stockpile some picks for a move up, I mean stockpile ALL the picks we get for 2027. If possible, do multiple trade downs, demanding all the picks in return be for 2027. This has an added benefit of getting higher picks (usually if it would be this year's 2 it would be next year's 1, etc). Then, are you ready for the kicker...drum roll please...wherever we land in the 1st round after trading down, trade THAT pick for 2027 picks. Essentially, don't draft in the 1st round of the 2026 draft.

Why do this when we need immedi8ate talent infusions? #1, if we don't get Mendoza or radically hit on the next Darnold, we ain't winning jack in 2026 anyway. There's no use loading the roster for a QB in 2027 if we cannot with 100 percent surety guarantee we can get a good one where or near where we draft next year. If Monti and Co are going to force me into enduring the magic beans strategy, then freaking go all out with the magic beans strategy and have like 10 1st-3rd round picks next year.
So after berating other posters for suggesting a trade down (any year) now you're advocating for such a trade. What about "big John's"? Or are magic beans more important now than before?

Color me shocked....

No I get it he went off the wall. Against his norm. My point is why go after differing opinions?
I’m unsure I understand what you’re asking. Are you equating disagreeing with as “going after” (and what do you mean by “going after?”)?

Try reading again. If we absolutely have to, then don't go halfway. Go all in and trade away 2026 for 2027. It's a thought exercise thread meant to go, well, crazy.

I get it, I'm just surprised by your take. It's not like you. In fact it a complete opposite stance. I get if you going to do it then go balls out. I just remember your rants about where does it end . I don't even disagree with this strategy. I don't like it for the simple reason as you've stated many times, "you can improve the team while still tanking.

Edit:
I did miss the part about stick and pick. So you're saying that if we're going to trade down anyway then go balls out?
