campbell is good for D too, he may have regressed but he is still a beast in the making. DRC not going anywhere and with a new DC could be back on top. Schofield looks amazing considering his circumstances.

Replace Russ Grimm.

Put a QB like Colt McCoy under Center. (where they can find one I have no idea)

Get a younger Joey Porter (time machine rental $5 million but is negotiable)

And just about everyone else under the Age of 32 will be just fine.

Say what you will about Skelton but he's the only QB on the team now that should be back next year. Core player...not right now he isn't, that's for sure.

This isn't a bare cupboard, the team has some solid young and prime talent.
Sadly it seems to have been a year wasted.

Offense:
1-Fitzgerald (game changer)
2-Breaston (underrated)
3-LSH (a lot like Sproles)
4-Lutui (much needed attitude up front)

Defense:
1-Dockett (even though I think he is better in a 4-3)
2-Dan Williams (a force in the middle)
3-DRC (prima donna, but really talented)
4-C Campbell (can be unblockable at times)

Guys who are close:
Daryl Washington: Athletic but needs to become more physical
Kerry Rhodes: Needs to be more consistent
Adrian Wilson: Huge liability in coverage
Tim Hightower: Needs to hold onto the ball
Beanie Wells: Needs to stay healthy and become more versatile
Greg Toler: Needs to become more agressive

This is why this season has been so frustrating for me. The defense has so much more talent than the offense, and yet it has failed to shoulder the load this year.

A couple other roster notes:
-We are very thin on the offensive line. Very thin.

-We are very close to becoming pretty solid on defense provided we get some pass rushers and a coordinator who knows what he is doing.

-If Wells doesn't develop at RB, we are screwed at the position. Hightower has outperformed Wells, but his fumbles are too much of a problem to invest money into long term.

-We need more quality depth at QB. I don't care if it is Luck, Orton, McNabb, Shaun Hill, Kolb, Ponder,Kaepernick, Stanzi, Devlin or Cam Newton. We need more depth.

I am getting lazy but this sounds about right to me. Great post.

On Offense, I think it's Fitz and Fitz only. If Timmy could hold onto the ball he'd be a fringe core guy for me just b/c he's also dirt cheap.

On defense though I think there are quite a few:

DD, CC, Williams, Washington and DRC

Odd though that after all the grief guys like Dansby and Branch have taken for being contract year players that Dockett has his worst season statistically since 2006. Same goes for Wilson.

What the heck is wrong in Arizona that players either can't wait to get out of town or just mail it in once they get their money?
