Clemson baseball appears to be finding momentum at the perfect time.
After a dreadful start to ACC play, the Tigers head into the final two weeks of the regular season riding a three-game winning streak that includes wins over three top-25 opponents. Clemson will get another major test this weekend when rival Florida State Seminoles baseball visits Doug Kingsmore Stadium for a pivotal three-game series.
Clemson Tigers baseball is 29-20 overall and 8-16 in ACC play after taking two of three from Boston College before knocking off No. 7 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball 8-4 on Tuesday night.
Nate Savoie, Tryston McCladdie and Luke Gaffney all delivered run-scoring hits against Coastal Carolina, while Jack Crighton collected four hits. Savoie enters the weekend hitting .351 with a 13-game hitting streak.
Florida State comes to Clemson at 34-14 overall and 15-9 in ACC play. The Seminoles are ranked No. 9 in this week’s USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll and have won five straight games.
Friday’s opener is set for 6 p.m. ET at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
