The Boston Celtics have been linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo in trade rumors, and Jaylen Brown would seemingly be involved in any deal.

Whether the Celtics actually break up Brown and Jayson Tatum is yet to be seen, but the smoke is there. However, even if they don't trade Brown, they may be better than last year. Not only will they have Tatum from the get-go, but Brown thinks his basketball is ahead of him. That's a bold statement considering he was an MVP candidate last season.

"This season is over, getting prepared for next season, it's any man's game," Brown said on Twitch on Sunday. "Now, we're back to work. Plenty of motivation to improve, get better. Me, personally, I know a lot of people think they've seen the best version of me—my physicality, my mental game, my weaknesses are turning into my strengths. You have not seen the best version of Jaylen Brown, I look forward to the next season, we'll see where the chips fall, but I'm excited about that."

Whether it's for the Celtics or another team, Brown expects to be even better next season. He averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists and one steal in 34.4 minutes per game. He was named an All-Star and All-NBA Second Team.

Brown is a five-time All-Star and Finals MVP. He is one of the elite players in the league, and if he thinks he can be even better, opposing teams would certainly have something to worry about. The Celtics would be in a great spot with Tatum and an even better version of Brown. However, if they trade him, they would suddenly be playing against that version.
