For the first time since being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers, Jaylen Brown spoke with the media on Thursday.
You probably won't be surprised to hear that Brown was asked about his relationship with Jayson Tatum.
Specifically, Brown was asked if he and Tatum wanted to stay together before they learned of the trade.
"We won a championship together," Brown responded. "Anybody that you win a championship with, you think that's what a brotherhood or a lifelong legacy would entail. Obviously, there's ups and downs in any type of relationship, for sure.
"On my end, there's nothing but respect. Besides when he plays the Sixers, I hope he does well. Other than that, everything from me is based on respect."
Brown was then asked if he's been able to talk to Tatum since the trade.
"Not really," he said.

News broke of the Celtics trading Brown to the 76ers on July 1. That means Brown and Tatum have had over a month to speak, but it doesn't sound like they have.
The Celtics drafted Brown with the No. 3 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. They then selected Tatum with the No. 3 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The two achieved a lot of success together in their nine seasons as teammates. The Celtics won 50-plus games in each of the last five seasons. It wasn't always the smoothest partnership, but they formed one of the league's best one-two punches, culminating in a championship in 2024.
Brown and Tatum will reconnect at some point, but it might not happen anytime soon.
