I really want a offensive minded HC versus a defensive minded HC. Then bring in a solid DC. With the team seemingly going in a different direction at QB, I think it behooves them to hire a HC who has experience working with an offense and in particular some type of experience with QBs.

I think this would be a terrible idea. I don't know that Vance will be a terrible HC elsewhere, but he's already had four years here, and it wasn't overwhelmingly good. He was an underwhelming HC in Denver. It wouldn't move the needle for me.

Saleh, I'm more willing to give a second chance, mainly because it will hurt inside the division as well.

Anthony Weaver is such a WTF. That defense is the weakness of that team (outside of Tua's struggles).

Well that and the Rooney rule out of the way.
They don't need to get it out of the way three times!

I don't know much about Weaver, but the other two are clearly well qualified candidates in high demand.

Edit: In 2023, before Weaver got to Miami, their defense was ranked 22nd (points) / 10th (yards).
In 2024, they improved to 10th / 4th.
In 2025, they fell back to 24th / 22nd.

Meh.

Prior to Miami, Weaver was DC in Houston for one year (2020). They ranked 27th / 30th.

Oof.

He was an awful defensive coach here, and became a great defensive coach with insane defensive talent. Can we excuse him for having pretty bad defensive rosters? Considering he tried to do the same thing over and over again, I don't. If he doesn't have the dawgs to run his defense and it isn't working, he just keeps doing the same thing ala Rallis this season. Pass.
I was thinking this and wondered if I was remembering correctly. Thank you for confirming.

No, he was with Houston in 2020, and from there went on to be the assistant head coach of the Ravens.

Defensive coordinators aren't normally in that high of a demand as head coaches in today's Nfl. So why are we interviewing them first? Shouldn't we be interviewing offensive coordinators first?
Maybe these are just the easy ones to schedule this week????

He’s a reasonable fit. He blitzed considerably more often than the Cards, whom Ossenfort built to be strong at blitzing. Joseph used his role players more often and more effectively. Of course this means he was a good DC, but he wasn’t a good HC. Too bad they can’t get him as DC. He might be a better coach the second time around, some are. Just not an exciting pick in my opinion.
Not exciting at all.

Seeing Mike Bidwill defend his ticket prices and casitas with “but the WI-FI!” and Monti saying Gannon-isms like “I have to get better” made me want to root for another team.
Some people and franchises/companies are absolutely ok with mediocrity as long they are getting by and selling the illusion. I've come to accept that about this ownership.

Would only take Saleh, if can bring in the Alabama QB. Not.

I think if they hire Vance and pursue kliff kingsbury (who just hours ago resigned from Wash) we might have something special going forward….
hell, why not bring kliff back as Head Coach??... just mandate that he hire an OC even if he chooses to call plays...someone to give the O more hands on attention.

on Kliff leaving Washington...the article I saw said "mutual parting of ways"...
if Kliff gives up his job voluntarily...does it free mike from offsetting his salary?....kinda like how if you quit your job you do not qualify for unemployment insurance?

on OC...I would really like to see us take a close look at Mike Shanahan the OC from Indiana..... dude has had great success at every stop on his career path...and another Shanny in the division couldnt hurt.

He didn’t ever want to play the rookies. Not sure how good he is at elevating players. For me it’s kind of been there done that and I wasn’t impressed
It's an interview and he is 3 years from working in AZ. Maybe something has changed.

I think the contract has to be paid up no matter what. The offset came with his salary from Wash… I think Mike is shelling that difference now… but, I’m not an HR rep with the NFL

That Wi-Fi stuff was ridiculous. So out of touch.
