One could speculate that his first two visits came down to something along the lines of, "our current WR room is content, and have concerns you might disrupt the balance..." Most players still practice most of the time, don't make themselves healthy scratches, ect. Of course, most players arent superstars, but if you as a player feel you dont need a questionably committed superstar in your room, teams might listen to those objections. Especially at his asking price.

I think this pretty much sums up Hopkins at this point.

Larry Fitz did it best at the end of his career and Hop would have been smart to do it the same: stick around with one team and take much smaller pay days and build goodwill.
He actually probably got more than he would have from other teams, if he were to hit the open market. When he was signing those $11 million contracts, people on here were vocal about him being overpaid, for his production.
Longevity wins out.
And I'm absolutely okay with that!
