Broncos have 11 players on injured reserve entering Week 18

The Denver Broncos have 11 players on injured reserve going into the final week of the regular season.

Last week, center Luke Wattenberg (shoulder) was added to the list. His best-case scenario for a potential return would be the AFC Championship game in January, should the Broncos advance that far. Denver can bring back up to three more players during the regular season and the candidates include linebacker Drew Sanders (foot) and tight end Lucas Krull (foot).

Meanwhile, the Broncos have four players -- fullback Michael Burton, guard/center Nick Gargiulo, pass rusher Johnny Walker and defensive end Matt Henningsen -- on season-ending IR. They are not eligible to play again this season, barring a settlement and release from IR, which would allow them to join another club.

NFL teams can designate up to eight players to return from IR during the regular season. Denver has used six of those designations so far, including one for Sanders, who figures to return in the coming weeks. The Broncos will also be allowed to bring back two additional players during the playoffs, giving them 10 total players who could return this campaign.
