The Denver Broncos have 11 players on injured reserve going into the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but a few reinforcements could be on the way.

Denver linebacker Drew Sanders (foot) returned to practice last week, starting his 21-day window to be activated to the 53-man roster. Additionally, tight end Lucas Krull (foot) is expected to return to practice this week. And if the Broncos win on Saturday, center Luke Wattenberg (shoulder) and running back J.K. Dobbins (foot) could be candidates to return ahead of the AFC Championship game.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have four players -- fullback Michael Burton, guard/center Nick Gargiulo, pass rusher Johnny Walker and defensive end Matt Henningsen -- on season-ending IR. They are not eligible to play again this season after landing on IR before the initial 53-man roster was set in August.

Broncos season-ending IR

  1. FB Michael Burton
  2. OL Nick Gargiulo
  3. OLB Johnny Walker
  4. DE Matt Henningsen

Broncos return-eligible IR

  1. LB Drew Sanders (eligible now)
  2. TE Lucas Krull (eligible now)
  3. C Luke Wattenberg (possible AFC title game return)
  4. RB J.K. Dobbins (possible AFC title game return)
  5. OL Matt Peart (timeline uncertain)
  6. DB Brandon Jones (timeline uncertain)

Including the two spots designated for Krull and Sanders, Denver has room for five players to return from IR. So in a best-case scenario, Krull, Sanders, Wattenberg and Dobbins could also return in the coming weeks.
