After placing safety Brandon Jones (pectoral) on injured reserve on Monday, the Denver Broncos now have 11 players on IR going into Week 16. The severity of Jones' injury is not yet known, but he would have to sit out at least four games before being eligible to return.

Denver's list of players who could return this season includes guard Ben Powers (biceps) -- who returned to practice last week -- and linebacker Drew Sanders (foot).

Meanwhile, the Broncos have four players -- fullback Michael Burton, guard/center Nick Gargiulo, pass rusher Johnny Walker and defensive end Matt Henningsen -- on season-ending IR. They are not eligible to play again this season, barring a settlement and release from IR, which would allow them to join another club.

Broncos season-ending IR

  1. FB Michael Burton
  2. OL Nick Gargiulo
  3. OLB Johnny Walker
  4. DE Matt Henningsen

Broncos short-term IR

  1. G Ben Powers (eligible now)
  2. ILB Drew Sanders (eligible now)
  3. LB Karene Reid (eligible now)
  4. TE Lucas Krull (possible December return)
  5. DB Brandon Jones (timeline uncertain)
  6. OL Matt Peart (timeline uncertain)
  7. RB J.K. Dobbins (possible Super Bowl return)

NFL teams can designate up to eight players to return from IR per season. Denver has used five of those designations so far, including one for Sanders and one for Powers, so both of those players figure to return in the coming weeks.
