Re-sign Paris for starters.

For the record, I'm mostly a 'let the player get his' side of the argument. However, this one feels like he got paid, because he was named as a starter.

I'd rather start Beck and see where it goes.
Nothing about this deal precludes an extension for either Wilson or PJJ.

It’s much less clear to me that PJJ deserves a contract extension that places him among the top 10 OTs in football than Brissett deserves a raise to make him the lowest-paid starting QB in the NFL.

If anyone thinks there is more than a 1-2 win difference between any of our QBs you are crazy.

I'm going to love hearing that getting that maybe 1 extra win was worth the money and loss of a top draft pick because "I want the team to win no matter what"
I think Beck and Minshew are dramatically worse players than Brissett.

Also, selfishly, I have Trey McBride, MHJ, and Michael Wilson on my Dynasty team, haha.

What top draft pick are they losing if Brissett is as bad as people are claiming he is? The Saints tried to win games and drafted in the top 10. Come on.

Who is the QB to draft next year that will take the cardinals to the playoffs? Because if ALL the cardinals need is a QB, we should do just fine with JB this year.

Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett's $15.5 million sandwiches him between Fernando Mendoza ($14.3 million) and Aaron Rodgers ($22.5 million) in annual average, per OverTheCap.

He asked what I would rather do with the money. I answered him. Simple as that.
I think that's not really a "rather" answer if both can clearly happen. My point is "what is giving Brissett a mild raise doing to hurt the team? What is the alternative?"

If the team comes out and says "we can't re-sign Paris Johnson or Michael Wilson because we gave ten million to Jacoby," then I'll be fine calling it gross.

But man, if this team didn't even try paying him, I think we'd have a lot of players at midseason asking to be traded away, or outright refusing extensions. As a team, you can't just not try at all.

I just hope JB wins more games than KM! That means I'm pulling for JJ to win the starting position or if history repeats itself, KM will be hurt by around the 6th game. HAHA!

Why would anyone complain about this deal? It's for 1 year and has zero effect on the cap moving forward. He, by far, gives the Cards their best chance to win. That's all you can ask for. I don't get how anyone would want Beck under center to start the season over Brissett.

You can make all the predictions you want but they're meaningless until they start playing games. Like I mentioned earlier, how many wins were the Seahawks with Sam Darnold and Pats predicted to win last year? The Cards trade with Houston looked good at the time because everyone had the Texans winning 2-3 games then were watching them in the playoffs and the Cards top 3 pick was now late 20's. What if Jacoby puts up better numbers to last year with more weapons and the Cards defense is competent?

I'm not saying that will be the case but it's 100% the right move.

He's the lowest paid starting QB in the league for 1 year. What's the bitch about??????

Amen. I'm not claiming the Cardinals are going to go out there and shock the world... but we have a better shot with Brissett. The 49ers are going to be in tough shape with limited input from Shanahan, mediocrity at WR, CMC as fragile as ever with his age...

There's valid concerns for the Rams, too. If Stafford gets hurt, falls off a cliff due to age, or similar, are they impossible to beat?

I don't have a lot of arguments against Seattle, but you never know.

I'm not expecting much, but this is better than starting week one with Beck or Minshew, knowing the season is already completely over.

And as soon as Brissett signs MLF is like I’ve seen enough of Minshew and Beck, JB is the starter. lol.
Yeah but that is not comforting for me either.

I was really hoping Beck would show that he is the guy from day 1.

We are already hearing Beck has accuracy issues.

The money is chump change by NFL QB standards. The stupid part of the whole thing is knowing he is going to start yet dragging your feet on getting it done so that he missed all of the pre-camp activities.

Why waste 4 months?

Not a serious team.
