If they can’t sign him tomorrow, move on. Distraction and culture killer during team camp for this to continue.

If I’m bidWill, JB and Monti would be sent packing AND cut Adams and fire Gold.
100%

Only a clown franchise would pay this loser. Who is actually excited to see JB start as the cardinals QB.

Maybe Micheal is making Monti wait to see if another QB steps up. If not, he'll pay him right before the season.

Being in a position of having to pay a clear NFL backup a salary higher than needed is a failure but we already know this.

On a side note, I’m ready to open our box of chocolates and see what we got!

The fact that the Cards burned this much goodwill over $15 mill for a starting QB shows how small the PV Hillbillies still are.

Wow, what idiocy on display.

What goodwill?

This is par for the course.

If this changes the opinion of any fan about this organization then that fan hasn’t been paying attention.

It’s more like $9 million
Even worse.

I don't like Brissett which is well known but to draw this out over that amount of money is bat crap insane.

Especially since its obvious the guys on the team wanted this to happen from the jump.

Add in you have a new coaching staff that needs to gel quickly.

The PV Hillibillies continue to show they don't belong in the NFL at all.

Maybe thats the wrong term but it could be applied to coaches and players as well.

Either way I just don't get it.

showing up was another calculated chess move by the agentless jacoby - he's got monti by the osssenforts now - the fanbase has made their decision - so has mcbride - wilson and even budda baker

brissett has managed to keep the locker room - the same locker room that's watched beck and minshew in practice - same locker room that went 1-11 with brissett last year

this speaks volumes imo and monti better be listening because it's monti that would lose the locker room (and the fan base) - everyone has their opinions but most agree brissett should get paid

i'm not even worried about it tho - dude's already in camp - but squabbling over a few/four million has monti looking like a dick - no way around it - brissett didn't just start he showed us how life post kyler would be better than life with kyler

i will be forever grateful for that

brissett actually made it possible for monti to cut kyler - and this is the thanks he gets - monti truly sucks at this

I know I'm late to this conversation, but I truly don't understand why the AZ media...and any fans would be in favor of giving Jacoby more money. He is acting like he deserves more money simply because he's starting...but we have other QBs on the roster who would gladly start for their contract amount. Heck, any QB still available would take a chance to start for the league minimum!

Jacoby did not do enough to deserve more money. He is not a long term answer. He is at BEST a 4-5 win QB for this team if he starts all season, and that's being generous. Giving him more money is literally the same as flushing it down the toilet. The argument of "well the cards aren't gonna spend it on anything else" is silly...it's still real money that is being wasted.

I would love the cards to spend that money on a player that could actually improve the team...but I would take a stadium bathroom upgrade or more shade structures being built around the tailgating area rather than give the money to Brisset just because.

Just start Beck...for good or bad we get to see what he's made of, and most likely we end up in a spot to draft a good QB next year.

I guess the franchise just had to pay the embarrassment tax for a full four months to get to the very obvious endpoint.

The devil will be in the details. They’ll come out tomorrow or Tuesday (when they get filed with the league). The shape of the incentives and guarantees will be interesting to see.

Less gross than starting Minshew and Beck all season. What else did you want to do with the money at this point?
Re-sign Paris for starters.

For the record, I'm mostly a 'let the player get his' side of the argument. However, this one feels like he got paid, because he was named as a starter.

I'd rather start Beck and see where it goes.

The front office hasn’t done anything to improve the rest of this team. We are going to suck with or without Mr 1-11. It’s a joke that they caved to his demands either way.
