Beechwood High School senior Tyler Fryman announced on June 23 his decommitment from the University of Louisville Cardinals baseball program. Fryman, who has become a hot prospect in baseball and football recruiting, had been committed to Louisville since 2023.
"After much prayer and consideration with my family, I am announcing my decommitment from the University of Louisville," Fryman said in a post on X. "Thank you to the coaching staff and I’m grateful for the relationships that were built through the process."
Fryman, a class of 2027 standout, has been a Division I prospect in baseball since he was an eighth-grader for Beechwood in 2023.
This last school year, Fryman was the Ninth Region Player of the Year in baseball as Beechwood reached the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) state quarterfinals. In football, Beechwood went to the Class 2A semifinals as Fryman caught 62 passes for 1,320 yards and 23 touchdowns. In between those, Fryman competed in indoor track, helping Beechwood to a team title as he repeated as 200-meter dash champion with two more titles in the 400-meter dash and 4x200-meter relay.
Fryman, a four-star wide receiver recruit according to 247Sports, took an official visit to the University of Kentucky on June 19. Fryman's profile picture on X was changed to one of him in a Wildcats football uniform.
Fryman, among his baseball options, also has football offers from Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Iowa and Cincinnati.
