Florida State baseball won another series, this time over a ranked Virginia, adding to its already impressive resume. With an overall record of 24-7 and a conference record of 9-3, the Seminoles are among the top teams in the ACC and are looking to make another push for the College World Series.
Baseball America's top 25 rankings have smiled upon FSU, as in their rankings, Florida State is now rounding out the top five at No. 5 in the country. This is the first time they have appeared in the top five all season.
Last week, Florida State was ranked No. 6 nationally. Now, they are sandwiched between No. 4 Georgia (27-6, 10-2 SEC) and No. 6 North Carolina (27-5-1, 11-4 ACC). The ACC has six ranked teams in the updated poll, the second most of any conference.
Their upcoming schedule is another gauntlet. The Seminoles are 16-2 when they are at home, and their season continues when they welcome the Florida Gators to Tallahassee. Fans can catch that game on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN 2. Following that, the Seminoles travel to Atlanta to play the No. 3-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
