SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Augustana swept the NSIC regular season and tournament championships this year by knocking off Minnesota State 6-4 in the championship game Saturday at the Bird Cage.

This season marks the third time in program history the Vikings claimed both titles, all within the last decade.

“Every game we got up early,” Augustana head coach Tim Huber said. “We didn’t put as many runs up, but we did enough. It just gives you some breathing room, and yeah, I like that. I felt good about it.”

“We knew we had the guys to get the job done,” tournament MVP Kobe Eikmeier said. “Our pitching, we were phenomenal. I felt like this whole weekend and the bats came alive.”

Augustana is the No. 5 seed in the Central Region will play Northwest Missouri State in Pittsburg, Kansas.
