Today’s practice has apparently been moved from 9a to 1045a. Not sure if this means anything given the cancelled practice recently but teams don’t usually mess with practice times

Maybe not so nefarious.

Here is something on Kenny Dillingham's current base salary which is expected to increase.

------------------

By Chris Karpman 19 mins SunDevilSource / 247 sports:

By winning eight regular-season games, Dillingham was already due to receive an automatic $200,000 raise that would increase his 2025 base pay of $5.8 million to $6 million next year, along with an automatic rollover extension of one year that will extend his agreement through Dec. 31, 2030. Even so, it's not close to as much as what some of college football's top earners will make next year and beyond.

Great job by Dillingham and his agent playing ASU for more money with a job he never had a chance to get. IMO.

Did you watch Leavitt this year? With no Cam and the offense centered on him, he did not look very good, even prior to the injury. There are a lot of holes in his game.
I went to the NAU game and it was noticable that they were confusing him. He really struggled reading what coverages they were going to play and took some big hits and sacks because of it. To some extent, I blame it on coaching. But, who knows? He got a little better with it as the year went on but he is best at street ball. A surgeon-like QB he is not.

If he is smart, he will go to coach known for developing good QBs. LSU makes the most sense for him. I am sure Kiffin would think he can make him great.

I love that he did that. Push the envelope as far as possible and it's a win-win. ASU retains him and he is adequately compensated vis a vis to other top programs. Then the onus is on him to make ASU a top program.

Coaches all over the country have been doing it. Mike Elko got a six year extension for 66 million.

I wish we had the resources that A&M and Texas Tech have.

Not enough oil in the state. Do we have any big copper magnates that are alum? Cotton? Citrus? One of the C's have to have some money in it to get us a big boost.

This is the best outcome if ASU wants to build the program and remain competitive.

What I don's care for are tweets that lead and are not substantiated by facts.

Through all the rumors, not that it's ever over, these two tweets gave me the most comfort.

No program has ever paid so much to get so little as Texas A&M. But, maybe this is the year?

LOL. Nah, they will lose to Miami. Just watch. Aggies fans are just as battered as Cardinals fans for good reason. Except A&M teases you a lot more.

Family has been season ticket holders for years. Bidwill doesn’t have great relationships with anyone really but Kenny knows that with his local popularity that he’d get concessions and power that some random assistant coach we’d theoretically hire would not. Bidwill can’t risk the inevitable loss in that PR battle.

Of course that’s also the reason Bidwill might not hire him.

Does he have a relationship with Midwill?

It’s not about being a drop back passer. You were ecstatic when he was here and winning for you, regardless of how he achieved the success and now that he’s gone he stunk. I just find that funny.

Who cares what he’s doing in two years? That’s not the point. The point is he won’t be doing it at asu next year and that would’ve given this team the best chance to win. Or do you expect that dilly will have a BETTER QB next season? More than willing to reconvene then on that note.
I never said he stunk. I said his game is primarily built around a skill that's going to likely be significantly impacted by his injury.

I also said it was likely to be better for ASU in the long run that they can start anew next year with the next QB they would eventually need to develop anyway, so they would be that much further ahead in said development rather than waiting on Leavitt's uncertain recovery and return that would interrupt any development of his successor.

I wasn’t thinking it nefarious but teams are so structured that any sort of straying from their path is notable

I dunno… Moore was making less than $6m a year at Michigan.
Nonetheless, Kenny is about to see a nice bump, certainly pushing him well above $6m per…

It’s not really more money. It’s converting bonuses into salary.

And this Michigan interest in Dilly is very real

Update:

Despite Deboer and Byrne saying publicy that he wont take the job, there is still mutual interest, and Deboer remains #1 on UM's list. If/when Bama is out of the playoffs, I think at least one more conversation is going to happen b/t UM and Deboer.

Dilly is still very much in the picture; and I would go as far as to say that he is #2. If you havent noticed by now, Dilly hasn't signed the new contract proposed to him because all it does is convert bonuses to salary and does very little to improve resources for players and recruits. Meanwhile, UM has near infinite resources at their disposal. ASU is literally going broke trying to keep Dilly, and I think he's realizing that.

Jedd Fisch is a safety option because his grimy ass would take the job immediately, but I dont even think he's in UM's Top-3 anymore, or even Top-5 for that matter.

If I'm an ASU fan, pray that Alabama loses to Oklahoma, because if Bama continues to win and Deboer doesnt speak to UM, they might move quickly on Dilly to fill the position.

Kenny wants the Cardinals job and/or fat raises for his assistants and a GM to take some work off his plate. Michigan rumors floating around help those causes.

Yup, that's about my take on the current situation based on everything I'm seeing at various well informed outlets. It is probably down to Deboer, Dillingham, and Fisch at this point, unless Michigan has a hidden card.

Bidwill would have to fire Gannon next week for that to happen, and we know that's not happening
