Lovely trips to Stillwater, Cincinnati, Manhattan (KS), San Marcos and Lubbock

Two trips to Texas, one each to Kansas, Oklahoma and Ohio.

My wife and I have been wanting to visit Kansas City for the first time (KC is about 100 miles from Manhattan, KS, I believe) and we thought that we might take an ASU road trip. Not gonna happen in mid-November, though. ;)

I suddenly realized Wyoming is in the Big 12. ASU had a bit of rivalry with them back in the WAC days.

I disliked that option offense they used to run.

Wyoming is in the Mountain West.

That is a non-conference game, along with Texas State and Mississippi State

Okay, this makes sense.

I'm going to have to bookmark the teams in the Big 12.

I am sure our Texas recruits are going to enjoy these road trips.

Definitely some thorny games especially considering we really don’t know what this team will look like at this point. This looks like 4-8 thru 8-4 schedule assuming how the team comes together…starting with competent (or better) QB play.

Edit: eh, maybe the 8-4 ceiling is being generous

I don't think 6-6 is out of reach, and probably even a reasonable expectation.
I really dislike trying to guess wins and losses this early but there is a path, and not an unreasonable one, to a 3-0 start. The success of the season is dependent on a bunch of things and a quick start out of the gates is one of them.

That's pretty much where I am at this absurdly early stage. I could go either way with Cincy, BYU, MSU and Arizona, and I can foresee a lot of really close games. Lots of bowl teams, including Wyoming.

Beat Wyoming 1-0
Lose to MSU, 1-1
Beat Texas State, 2-1
Lose to TTU, 2-2
Beat Kansas, 3-2
Lose to Utah, 3-3
Lose to Cincy, 3-4
Lose to Oklahoma State, 3-5
Beat UCF, 4-5
Lose to KSU, 4-6
Beat BYU, 5-6
Beat Arizona, 6-6

Cincinnati was awful last year…yes ASU was too…but I think most would peg that as a win.

I admire your confidence considering the game is in Tucson and the talent gap between the two schools is still considerable.

today, I figure UA wins the game but I’m not sure anyone can state the talent gap is considerable at this point. Maybe, maybe not

I think there is still a gap, but it's significantly smaller after the portal departures to Washington and elsewhere. I don't see Arizona as a CFP contender any longer, but we shall see what happens. Looking at them through my maroon-colored glasses, Rashada and Badger could be more productive than Fifita and McMillan.

With Cowing, McLachlan, Coleman, and Wiley all gone, Fifita and McMillan may not have such an easy time of it this upcoming season. Not to mention the loss of talent on defense, or the potential impact that just changes in the coaching staff will have.
