What is the best result the Cards can hope to achieve? Even if MLF proves highly creative and Brissett plays his best how many wins are possible? With 4 more points in each game the Cards would have started 7-0 last season. Is this year’s team better or worse than last season’s? Murray only played the first 5 games. Is this team underrated? Injuries devastated the defense after the bye. Is this year’s defense competitive? Looking for explained opinions! Join in.

Defense is likely worse, but there isn’t much floor below “most points surrendered in franchise history.” Lost our best two DL to incompetence plus an our top 3 safety.

Offense is probably slightly better and much more efficient both with Coach Good Hang’s structure and the additions of Love and Semulou.

There’s a scenario where Mack Wilson is a true catalyst for a good defense and Walter Nolen is as good for 17 games as he was in six.

In that scenario, Monti realizes his vision of a team good enough to succeed regardless of who the QB is and the Cards win 10 games. Brissett plays as well as 2025 Aaron Rodgers or Bryce Young.

This will be Bizzaro season...last year we expected to make the playoffs and let's just say, fell a little short. This year we are expecting very few wins...but that's where Bizzaro season comes in and we will win those 10 games. Unfortunately, all the wins come on last second plays, causing extreme anxiety throughout the year. Those of us that still have hair will start losing it in clumps. And if you're not to the grey hair yet, by the super bowl you will be. But it will all be worth it...;)

With as good as the NFC west is this year and with as stacked our schedule is, I want to be competitive, but I want answers at QB.

Ideally in my mind, Beck starts after a few games into the regular season and we see what he has. Jacoby and Gardner are nice backups, nothing more.

I don't see the Cardinals winning much more than 6 games this season. Just too many question marks with a mostly new coaching staff and massive questions at the most important position in sports. I do think Brissett is good enough to win a hand full of games. However Brissett isn't going to carry the team on his back and win a bunch of come from behind games.

For the Cardinals to have a shot at making the playoffs they would need their defense to be at least top 10 in the league. IMO there are just too many unknowns for this defense to make that kind of jump.

A lot would have to go right for the defense to make that jump. The losses/cuts off the defense this offseason don't worry me much. Losing Calais hurts but he deserved to chase a ring one last time and that wasn't going to happen this season with the Cardinals. However CC wasn't going to be a long term answer anyways. Jalen was a solid safety but I actually like the upside of DTD better.

It all comes down to can the Defense say healthy? Will some of the young guys step up? How much of the lack of aggression late in games on the defensive side of the ball was Rallis or was it JG directing Rallis to go prevent?

Can Nolen stay healthy and blossom into a dominant force this season? Can other young guys like BJ and Robinson just be average and provide quality play the entire season? IMO the biggest question marks are with the front 7. If a couple of those young guys up front make the leap then I think this defense will be much improved. Thats a big if though.

Our Defense has to be better this year. Our gameplan last year seemed to be play cover 4 and let Wilson make every play.

I'm sure MLF has helped Rallis a ton in knowing what gave Rams fits and what was easy for them and we get back to the aggressive style of year 1.

Brissett was night and day better for our offense. We can win 8 games with this team and him but maybe not the schedule. Do we want to?

Better defense and a run game should help us as a team.

I want us to win every game, but I know that's not possible.

I want us to win every game that we can and let the chips fall where they fall. I never want us to lose or tank on purpose.

Best result, if everything goes right?

Probably 9 wins. There is a world where the Cardinals can beat the Chargers, Giants, Lions, Broncos, Cowboys, Commanders, Jets, Saints and Raiders.

I am not saying it is likely, but it also doesn't require the Cardinals to win a division game.

How is the defense better without Campbell, Tomlinson, and Jalen Thompson? And probably Garrett Williams for 6 weeks or more?
Assuming guys who weren't healthy got healthy, plus free agents, plus draft picks, plus it being a new year. New coach, new mindset, etc. Let's go !!

only one we'll miss is cc and he needed to be replaced with youth anyway

the roster wouldn't be the reason we'd be better - it's all about nick rallis - if he sends more than 4 more than not the quarterback will be got - it's science - if nick rallis tries to survive by only sending 4 he's out the door - gonzo - caput - sayanora

rallis isn't working with a bunch of rookies this year and hopefully the injury bug has run it's course - not to mention with how bad we were last year - it would be hard to not be "better"

you gonna hit the laugh button now lol

We may be asking the wrong question: The NFL is a business. Does the NFL really want the Cardinals to lose and possibly end up drafting a QB that would increase viewership in a bigger market? NO! This is why the cardinals will do so much better this year than projected. The fan base will be elated and hope will be restored...and then in 2027 we all come back to earth. Cardinal fans are riding a perpetual teeter totter.

I think the offense will be better than last year. I don't see any improvement with the defense. Trying the be realistic, I feel with some luck the Cards could win 6 games.

If the Defense can hold teams to 24 points or less I think the offense will win us some games. If the run game comes back to 2024 results then JB can win games. I'm putting a lot of faith into the Oline being very improved and Mlf being good at offensive game plans and schemes.
My biggest concern is the Defense and Rallis.
8 wins ceiling and 4 floor.

Offense should be better with improvement on the Oline and stability in the backfield. There is enough talent there to win close games.
Defense is a wild card though. Losing Thompson hurts, Budda even regressed a little last year so maybe age catching up? Walter Nolen and Will Johnson could make a difference.
BUT…If we can’t stay healthy then forget being competitive.
There’s not enough horsepower on the roster to overcome injuries.
Last years injuries were ridiculous.

We better beat the 49ers at least once. Didn’t we sweep them in 2024?
