If Conner comes back to be a solid backup, getting 12ish touches a games and helping convert tough yards for first downs, I'd call that a win. Aside from the ankle injury, his age won't be doing him any favors.
He has a $10 million cap number next year.

Conner is just going to forgo millions of dollars? Don’t see that. And unfortunately he’s exactly the type of player this franchise will fraudulently sell as part of the solution coming back next season, depending on an injured, aging RB to bring us back to respectability instead of being proactive and trying to get better.

Don’t see why he’d do that or why Bidwill and Co. would suddenly change their spots.
This guy will comeback strong. This injury is fully recoverable and a year off may actually leave him in better overall shape.
