Great game so far by the Dbacks. Great pitching, defense and offense.

Avila watches way to many close pitches go by when he is in a X-2 count.

Nice win! 8 straight series wins. Hasn't happen since the Mariners in 2001!

And we're up to eight consecutive series victories to start the season. Few things in sports matter more than consistency.

Once again, our starting pitcher depth and bullpen superiority are the keys.

The #DBacks are the first team since the 2001 Mariners to start the season with eight consecutive series victories. First NL team to do so since 1977 Dodgers.

Seattle won the AL West (in Ichiro's debut season) and 116 wins, lost to the Spankees in the ALCS.

Dodgers won the NL West (two divisions then) and 98 wins in Tommy Lasorda's first full season as manager, lost in the WS to the Spankees

Of course in 2001 we beat the Spankies when it mattered.
The best managerial move I've ever seen -- BB starting his ace, RJ, in Games 2 and 6 and in relief in Game 7, to avoid pitching him in Yankee Stadium (Games 3-4-5).

It was Schilling who started the traditional Games 1-4-7.

RJ's subsequent lack of success with the hated Yankees also showed just how brilliant a move it was.

It is ironic that the two starting pitchers whom we expected to be 1-2 to this season have been neither.
