As expected, Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said neither Jakob Chychrun nor Nick Merkley has been cleared for contact. Sounds like Barrett Hayton will sit, watch and learn for now; not play. Clayton Keller will start at center, given the injuries at that position.

I miss Tocchet, but was happy to him go to AZ.

It's going to depend a lot on how our new players like Grabner, Hinostroza, and especially Galchenyuk perform, but I think that most of our success will hinge on Raanta's health. The team can play fast and score as demonstrated at the end of last season. Tocc's system works so he will have buy in from the team.

I think we're a bubble playoff team that could squeak in this year if we can stay reasonably healthy. Our division is really tough, but I think we'll surprise a lot of people.
