The craziest thing about Sunday is that the offense and Kyler were MORE productive in the second half which had all of the drops (i think).
3 points in the 3rd quarter and 7 in the 4th - most points this offense has scored in a second half this season

and despite everyone talking about the drops (rightfully so) the offense was still more productive. The more and more I look at this game, it really blows my mind how weird some things were.
Like possessing the ball for 22 of the 30 first half minutes and trailing 6-3.

Said it earlier in the week Pearsall is legit good. He is tough and he's fast, if they ever get him, Jennings and Aiyuk on the field healthy together that's a scary Wr room

That's the most alarming part about all of this...we're relatively healthy, and we BARELY beat two of the worst teams in the NFL, and just lost to a Niners team with half their squad.
Things better change quickly, or we're looking at another top 10 pick....wheeeeee!

My theory on that is they seemed to realize finally Bosa wasn't in the game. I was literally yelling at the tv he's not in there you don't have to chip the edge every play with the TE or RB now.
I think that after we lost Conner they did some eye opening and said Bosa's not in, let's do some deeper drops, 3 WR in and try and push the ball downfield a bit.

Its possible MHJ needed a Julio situation.
People knocked him for his drops early in his career. However, he was also allowed to not be the main focus of the offense while still on a team willing to throw.
Julio is obviously more explosive than MHJ. However, I think this scheme would have us very frustrated with a year 1/year 2 Julio.
We got outdueled by a one legged Mac-Attack and Bosa being out for how long? 9ers had plenty of other injuries too.

they were down their starting QB, TE, WR1/WR2, All-Pro DE... and we couldn't beat them.

Julio Jones had 2000 yards and 20 TDs across his first two seasons. He had 959 yards in 13 games his rookie year.

Its easy to understand the possesion time when you see what the offense is trying to do. Burn clock and play for field goals.
Even money
Had to throw more. Most running plays were designed for a Connor-type back. Useless at that point.
He would have kept throwing to him. That’s what smart coaches do.
It's not the play calls. It's 100% Kyler's mentality. The plays are the same, it's just that Kyler only opens up when were either up comfortably or down and needing a score.
