The Raiders announced last week they were benching Collins for Tuiasasopo for the rest of the year. and after one start today they announced they're starting Collins again. What this means is look for walter to get some action towards the end of the year.

Pretty funny, anybody around here knew they didn't really think Tui was going to be the long term answer they just wanted a spark, but losing to the Jets made it completely obvious that Collins isn't the problem and Tui isn't the solution.

Raiders | Walter probably won't play in 2005
Thu, 15 Dec 2005 06:54:12 -0800

The San Francisco Chronicle reports Oakland Raiders rookie QB Andrew Walter (sports hernia) is not likely to play in 2005 due to a sports hernia injury. "I hurt it, obviously, missed some time in (training) camp,'' said Walter, who has been seeing a specialist in Philadelphia about his injury. "That's what it stems from. I guess this is one of those things.'' Walter is scheduled for surgery in early January, but head coach Norv Turner said Walter could play a few snaps if necessary. "If he needed to play, he could. He practices doing the opponent's stuff,'' said Turner, adding that Walter often is sore the day following a full practice session.

Yeah that's a weird one they announced it as a groin injury, said he's had it for 4 months. Walter said he could play if he had to, but that he probably needs off season surgery.

Weird but I assume the reason they announced it is all the talk recently that Walter might start the last 2 games.
