Much respect to this man.

Old school player who lead this team through pure intensity and will.

Ferocious hitter who was so dangerous, they just couldn't let him hit like they allow Ray Lewis or Ronnie Lott.

The shot he laid on Todd Heap is still one of the hardest I have ever seen.

Or the game against the Falcons where he had that 90+ fumble return and 90+ INT return.

Awesome.

Love to hear he will be working with the organization.

Crazy. The Cardinals will have two ex-safeties on staff with the organization, and both probably are still intimidating.

Boy, that was emotional and sure worth seeing. The Q & A was interesting and in the middle of it, Patrick Peterson gets the mic and thanks him for all he has done for him and the team.

Patrick Peterson takes the mic meant for media questions to say thank you to Wilson. "I definitely want to follow you in your footsteps."

Had to shut my office door for that one. People think Keim is a fantastic GM, but he brought AW here and by doing so lit the spark behind our culture change 14 years ago. That's how long what we are seeing now has been in the works, and how strong the foundation is under the current regime. And it all started with AW and Keim.

For some reason I love seeing the big guys tear up.

Congratulations Adrian. It's going to be awesome seeing your name on the ROH.

GO CARDINALS :newcards:

That's a guy who put his heart and soul into his work every day. All of the emotions must be overwhelming.

Every other player in the history of the NFL that has both 25 sacks and 25 interceptions has made the HOF. What is there about Wilson's career that makes you think he would be kept out of the HOF?

thats not true.

In fact,

There are 14 defenders in the 20/20 club (INT & sacks) and none are in HOF (only 6 are eligible so far). @NFLChurch

Im happy that he came back, and will be a part of this organization moving forward. That sort of alumni feel is something this organization has lacked for a long time. It will be cool to see his number in the ring of honor.

I found lists of 25/25 club and none were in HOF. Majority of not all weren't even eligible yet
Eh! We are both wrong.
Not all 25/25 er's are HOF but there are only six all time including Wilson and Rodney Harrison is in the HOF and Ray Lewis is a "shoe-in".

Harrison and Lewis are the only two 30/30 club members, guess that is what I was thinking about; I remember thinking (when he was still active) that Wilson might reach that pinnacle.

As long as you are mentioning people that belong in the RoH, why not talk about my favorite Cardinal, Larry Stalling.

There are exactly 3 St. Louis Cardinals on the Cards ring of honor: Larry Wilson, Dan Dierdorf, Roger Wehrli. This is ridiculous. Smith, Jim Hart, Mel Gray, Jim Otis, Jim Bakken, Roy Green, Neil Lomax, Larry Centers, Stump Mitchell all belong on that RoH. We might not have any championships and not many hall of famers but there are players who've played for this frnchise that need to be recognized and appreciated by this organization. The fact that Hart and Smith are not even considered is a travesty. It's like they want to forget the St. Louis Cardinals ever existed. I know the city stiffed them on a stadium but they shouldn't take it out on the players. Oh, and let's not forget Tim McDonald either.

Didn't the Rams put some of those guys into their RoH, even though they never played for them? As representatives of great football players for the city of St. Louis?

I wouldn't be upset if Larry Centers made the Ring - but last I saw him, he was doing a former player show with the "washington football club". It feels to me like the decisions to be selected for RoH revolves around the players remaining active with the organization.

As for Tim McDonald, I'm not so sure he belongs in the Cardinals RoH. I admit, I listed him as one of my favorite AZ Card players for years, but he left us early in the prime of his career for San Fran. I think he played there just as long as he did in Arizona. I don't think he meets the length of service that should be required to make the RoH.

Just my opinion.

Go Cards!!!
