Announcing his retirement from the NFL. Expected that the team will announce that he is headed to the Ring of Honor as well.

He never played a down for any other team. Got hurt in training camp for the Pats and couldn't make the Bears roster.

Congrats to ADub but I think it's an embarrassment by the organization if he does indeed get in while Jackie Smith isn't. Truth

There are exactly 3 St. Louis Cardinals on the Cards ring of honor: Larry Wilson, Dan Dierdorf, Roger Wehrli. This is ridiculous. Smith, Jim Hart, Mel Gray, Jim Otis, Jim Bakken, Roy Green, Neil Lomax, Larry Centers, Stump Mitchell all belong on that RoH. We might not have any championships and not many hall of famers but there are players who've played for this frnchise that need to be recognized and appreciated by this organization. The fact that Hart and Smith are not even considered is a travesty. It's like they want to forget the St. Louis Cardinals ever existed. I know the city stiffed them on a stadium but they shouldn't take it out on the players. Oh, and let's not forget Tim McDonald either.

Sure they will retire his number as well, it's never been assigned since he left. Going to love being in the stadium when he's put into the ROH. My favorite Card ever!

I wonder if both Hart and Terry Metcalf ending their careers with the Redskins hurt their chances in the Bidwill's eyes.

Congrats on the retirement. I'd be absolutely shocked if he was brought on in any coaching/scouting role though. That's not him.

Loved ADub but no way imo he deserves his number retired...I personally don't think he'll sniff the HOF.

Possibly, but if I'm not mistaken all of the ROH players are HOFs except Tillman, Cain & Charles Bidwill. I even asked Urban to ask Michael why Jackie Smith wasn't in earlier in the year & have yet to get an answer.

Agree on some but imo it appears a HOF bust is required though I may be wrong.

Charles Bidwill is in the HOF. The other one who isn't is Warner (yet). Who is Cain?

Wison deserves to be in the ring of honor, imvho. If he is retiring I wish him well. Say what you will about his play on the field, but off the field he is one of my favorite players of all time. He can be the strong safety on my team every time.

If this is true then they're the only team to do this. A team ring of honor is supposed to be for players who were special to the team. For example, the Eagles honor roll has players like Ron Jaworski, Tom Brookshire, Tommy McDonald, Bill Bradley(who was a Cardinal as well), and Randall Cunningham. None of these players are hall of famers but they were special to the Eagles. The Cards ignoring their history like this is terrible. As I said, we night not have a lot of championships but we've had some players who are worthy of constant remembrance.

Every other player in the history of the NFL that has both 25 sacks and 25 interceptions has made the HOF. What is there about Wilson's career that makes you think he would be kept out of the HOF?

Honestly, one of my top 5 favorite moments from last season was seeing Adrian crank the siren at the beginning of game - I believe it was San Diego. Not only was it good for the obvious love of seeing AW in the stadium, but he had the biggest **** eating grin I can remember seeing on his face. I had many feels.
