Recently, the Red Sox acquired Adley Rutschman in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan wrote (on August 3): “Right-hander Anthony Eyanson is going to the Baltimore Orioles in the Adley Rutschman deal, a source tells ESPN. Big-time pitching prospect who’s the centerpiece of the deal.”
Following the trade, Rutschman made a heartfelt post to Instagram.
He wrote: “Birdland
Thank you for making Baltimore feel like home.
The relationships I’ve built, the memories we’ve made, and the support you’ve shown me are things I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. From being drafted, to making my debut, to experiencing the postseason, I’m incredibly proud of everything we accomplished together and I’ll always be grateful for the journey and everyone who was a part of it. Thank you to my teammates, the organization, and especially the fans who believed in me and supported me every step of the way.
Baltimore will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything”
