Apr. 7—Kade Moffitt

Senior

Edgerton

Moffitt makes the Globe's All-Area first team for the second year in a row as the senior guard put up another stellar season. A four-year starter for the Flying Dutchmen, Moffitt led the team in scoring the past three seasons. This year, he scored 594 points on a 22 per game average and also led the team in rebounds. Moffitt's Edgerton career ends with over 1,800 points (15.5 per game) along with 653 rebounds, 412 assists and 193 steals in 117 varsity games. He led the Dutchmen to a 16-11 record this year. Moffitt is a very skilled guard with passing and long-range shooting ability and he can create his own shot off the dribble.

Jamin Metzger

Senior

Hills-Beaver Creek

Along with a historic career on the football field, Metzger is also highly skilled and successful on the basketball court. A talented all-around athlete, Metzger averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists this season as he led the Patriots to a 30-3 mark and the first Class A state championship in school history. A forward with plenty of size and athleticism, Metzger helped lead the way for H-BC throughout the state tournament. He averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds in the tournament, including 22 points and 13 boards against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in the title game. After high school, Metzger will play football at the University of Sioux Falls.

Roman Voss

Senior

Jackson County Central

Despite missing the first 11 games of the season due to a football injury, Voss still makes an appearance on the All-Area first team for the second time. His debut appearance came two years ago as a sophomore. En route to leading the Huskies to the Section 3AA title, Voss averaged 18.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Then in the state tournament consolation bracket, Voss averaged 20 points, 11 boards and seven assists in the two consolation games to help the Huskies place fifth. A University of Minnesota football commit, Voss ends his basketball career as one of the most successful in school history.

Josiah Hoftyzer

Southwest Minnesota Christian

Southwest Minnesota Christian boys basketball has continued to produce some of the area's finest players and Hoftyzer is one of the latest examples as he helped lead the Eagles to a 24-5 record and the Section 3A South championship game. The junior forward can both shoot from the outside when needed and be a force in the paint. He averaged 21 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on nearly 48% from the field. He was the leading scorer and rebounder on a team full of talent. One of his many standout performances this year included a 35-point effort against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in the sub-section tournament.

Drew Swanson
