CLEVELAND, Ohio — Every NFL draft class is much different than the year before. As we get deeper into the draft cycle for 2026, I’ll have full position group breakdowns and rankings.
LB does seem to be solid in this class and might pair well with need.nice summary of some players -- including a shout out for an ASU guy who might be a target for the Cards in Rd 2
From Louis Riddick:
More Sr Bowl thoughts:1) Having called the games of so many of these players during the season, I felt as locked into this group as any in recent years.
2) The National Team LB group as a whole set the tone for the 3 days of practice. Kyle Louis, Jacob Rodriguez, Kaleb Elarms-Orr, Bryce Boettcher… were flying around making play after play after play. Such a fundamentally sound group.
3) National Team Safety Bud Clark of TCU is an absolute ball hawk. Just like he was when I studied him this fall. He is a true disrupter. You want to improve your turnover differential, draft Bud Clark.
4) American Team WR Malachi Fields is Mr Automatic. You put it near him, he is going to catch it, and it doesn’t matter if he is covered or not.
5) American Team RT Max Iheanachor (ASU) is the perfect OT body type with super quick feet, good strength, and an increasingly nasty playing personality that started to show. He has so much upside!6) I would do whatever is necessary to make sure I could have American Team DL’s Zion Young and Caleb Banks on my team. Enough said.
Clark is likely day 3. Round tough to project this early.LB does seem to be solid in this class and might pair well with need.
Bud Clark was impressive. I don't really have a great gauge on where he goes in the draft. Safeties are tough for me. Maybe 3rd or 4th round?
Big Max is one of my favorites for round 2.
Jacob Rodriguez, T Tech. The Cards keep drafting these triangle number MLBs to mixed (at best) results. Rodriguez has football IQ/instincts off the chartsLB does seem to be solid in this class and might pair well with need.
