I know I'm Capt. Obvious, but if the offense does well worry about the defense. And, if the defense does well (you know the rest). When I was a kid, and the NY Giants were in TC, their coach Allie Sherman, when they were scrimmaging would have the offensive and defensive starters go up against the backups. So, both could look good.
Ya know Garth... there is a world in which our defense looks bad in training camp and it isnt so much because they suck but because our offense is really good.
we have the tools on the offensive side. we need the o line to step up a bit and the QB position to not lose games for us.
Im interested in how the defense performs against green bay in the joint game... but even that doesnt seal the deal as they may stay pretty vannilla for that..
but generally defense gets on track first....so we should know who they are by about week three

Sounds like a rookie trying to learn MLFs NFL playbook
some people dont get that many plays call for the QB to throw to a spot on the field at a particular time...if there are two rookies learning it at the same time sometimes it can look really bad.
in our case...everyone is a rookie in this offense
