This year's season for the Arizona Cardinals has all the looks of a football odyssey.

First of all, the fact that the 2017 NFL Draft takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has major significance in that both Bruce Arians (York) and Steve Keim (Harrisburg) are highly decorated Pennsylvania boys. Arians was inducted into the York PA Hall of Fame in 2007 and Keim was inducted into the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 2004. It is worth noting as well that Larry Fitzgerald on July 1, 2013 had his #1 jersey retired by the University of Pittsburgh in honor of him winning the prestigious Walter Camp Award (nation's top player) and the Bileitnikoff Award (top receiver) in 2003. In 2003 Fitzgerald was the runner-up to the Heisman Trophy and a unanimous 1st team All-American.

Secondly, the Cardinals will be making their first pre-season stop at the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Not only will this trip coincide with Kurt Warner's 2017 induction into the Hall of Fame, it will give current Cardinals' potential Hall of Fame candidates WR Larry Fitzgerald and CB Patrick Peterson a privileged glimpse of what it means to be lauded and enshrined as one of the best to ever play in the NFL.

Finally, this year's Super Bowl happens to be in Minneapolis, Minnesota-- and we all know what that means for Larry Fitzgerald. What a story line it would be for Fitz to have the confetti rain down of the Cardinals and him in Super Bowl LII. Talk about football odysseys. This one could be one of the greatest of all. It took Odysseus 20 years to return to ithaca -- and amazingly -- if one counts Larry Fitzgerald's 2 years of junior high school, 4 years of high school, 2 years of college and 14 years of playing in the NFL -- the sum of those years is an even 20.

Will Poseidon continue to blow the Cardinals astray -- or will Athena will the Cardinals all the way home?

The Cardinals played in the 2012 Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio vs. the New Orleans Saints.

Edit: Oh, you meant their first stop of the pre-season this year, not their first Hall of Fame game.

Please continue. . .

Well I hope our Odyssey goes much better for us than it did for Odysseus.

Ha ha, was going to say the same thing. Hasn't Fitz been in the NFL only 11 years going on 12? That's where he may have had a typo.

Fitz was taken in the 2004 draft. This upcoming season will be his 14th.

I'm thinking the 2017 season will be more like "Everybody poops."
