But to your mind, he won't be a failure no matter what. You're already making excuses for a disappointing FA approach. This is what Chopper and I are talking about. My hope is that he becomes a success. To each their own.
Okay, but that is about expectations. Not hope. I think it is a bit strange to hope that the team fails even before the season has started.
I’ve been patient but I’m ready to see him win an offseason for once. But to your mind, he won't be a failure no matter what. You're already making excuses for a disappointing FA approach. This is what Chopper and I are talking about.
It is too easy to say that if I don’t think he has been a complete, 100% failure, then I am making excuses for him and think he can do nothing wrong. I do think he could have drafted better, and I do think they should attack free agency tomorrow pretty aggressively, but I also think that the Cards are closer to being relevant than their record last season showed, and I think he is being financially handcuffed by Bidwill to an extent. Further, I think that he drafted players that stylistically fit exactly what Gannon and Petzing wanted, and that they are heavily at fault for not making it work. Both things can be true, and I don’t think it is as easy as to say that he is a major fiasco and should be run out of time. But to your mind, he won't be a failure no matter what. You're already making excuses for a disappointing FA approach. This is what Chopper and I are talking about.
That is giving up right now, long before any game is played. I don't understand that approach. It's more that Monti is already a bust, so let's not drag out this out longer than it needs to be and get someone else at the helm.
My man we’ve won 15 games in 51 tries under Monti’s leadership. That is giving up right now, long before any game is played. I don't understand that approach.
Bidwill gave up when he kept Monti and Rallis. That is giving up right now, long before any game is played. I don't understand that approach.
Monti is a bad GM. He has been bad at FA. He has been bad at the draft. He stated when he was hired he wanted to build the lines and has failed in achieving that goal. He said Kyler was the guy, and he failed with that. The first HC he hired has been fired. On top of all of that, the franchises has been one of the worst in the three years he has overseen it. That isn’t average, it is bad. That is giving up right now, long before any game is played. I don't understand that approach.
So?My man we’ve won 15 games in 51 tries under Monti’s leadership.
Seems like we’ve played some games to make some decisions on
You didn't read what I wrote? Then it is difficult to discuss anything. And when he only wins 5 games this year, what is the reason you would keep him? Because he couldn’t overcome the mess that he created?
That is very true. I just choose to hope for the best, while other choose to hope for the worst. Again, to each their own. Nobody say we need to support the team the same ways.Maybe you think some miracle will occur in 2026 and it could, but the far more likely scenario is that this just is who Monti is as a GM.
Yes why would anyone think the General Manager selected the head coach? You didn't read what I wrote? Then it is difficult to discuss anything.
By the way, it seems a little naive to think that Ossenfort hired Gannon and LaFleur.
Maybe, but that doesn't explain why you want the team to lose so that he can get fired? We are fans. We don't make the decisions. All we can do is to decide if we want to follow a team or not, and if you choose to do so, I just think it is strange to hope for misery. That's just me. Fortunately there is no right or wrong way.Seems like we’ve played some games to make some decisions on
I guess because Bidwill own the team. You should probably do a little research about what kind of person Bidwill is. Or just watch some of the introduction press conference from when Arians, Wilks or Kingsbury started, if you don't want to read. Or read about every single head coach-hire in the NFL to find out that it is literally always the team owner that make that final decision. It is in fact also the owner that fire the head coach.Yes why would anyone think the General Manager selected the head coach?
Who's hoping for the worst? Most folks are just married to the reality of the situation, and it's a bleak relationship, let me tell ya.That is very true. I just choose to hope for the best, while other choose to hope for the worst. Again, to each their own. Nobody say we need to support the team the same ways.
Dude, you are major league projecting. People are disagreeing with you and you're accusing them of wanting this team to lose. El wrongo.Maybe, but that doesn't explain why you want the team to lose so that he can get fired? We are fans. We don't make the decisions. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's got to be a quip, query, snark or some sort of response to this...LOLEl wrongo.
For me I need 7 wins this year with the cards being competitive in most games…..or Monti can go…nice man and I know he works hard but I won’t feel sorry for him it’s not like he is gonna go hungry…. But I will wish him well….Who's hoping for the worst? Most folks are just married to the reality of the situation, and it's a bleak relationship, let me tell ya.
"My boy hope for the season is Monti getting fired by the end of it."Who's hoping for the worst? Most folks are just married to the reality of the situation, and it's a bleak relationship, let me tell ya.
I think you have forgotten - or ignore - what started this entire discussion. Chopper mentioned how he hopes that Ossenfort fails, and I don't understand that thinking. I mentioned that, and you and a couple of others started talking about expectations. I think that expectations and hope are two very different things.Dude, you are major league projecting. People are disagreeing with you and you're accusing them of wanting this team to lose. El wrongo.
Playoffs or bust. He's had more than enough time. For me I need 7 wins this year with the cards being competitive in most games…..or Monti can go…nice man and I know he works hard but I won’t feel sorry for him it’s not like he is gonna go hungry…. But I will wish him well….
