Does it matter why the organization is dysfunctional? Maybe the decision makers aren't fighting internally so much. But there's a dozen other reasons you can attach dysfunctional to the Cardinals.
Well, since the discussion was specifically about Eli Manning’s decision, I guess it matters 100%.

Manning better play much better if he thinks he's going #1. If he plays like he did last year, he'll be begging the Cards to take him. In round 2.
The Raiders were ready to take him #1 this year. His name will make his the #1 pick. I agree though that he is not currently a 1st round talent aside from his name.

Just remember that the Draft doesn't only measure where you are today, but where teams think that you'll be 'tomorrow'.

Pittsburgh is a legit possibility. Miami was once the winningest franchise in the NFL. Tampa could be another option. Atlanta. Minnesota.

When you’re one of the five worst franchises in the NFL you’re looking up at a lot of teams.
But he wouldn’t get his chance to start except maybe Miami which surely wouldn’t give him a raise.

Dude he’d start wherever he ends up within a few weeks. Eli Manning only started beginning Week 11.

When you’re anticipating a 10+ year career, waiting until midway through your rookie season is NBD.

We’ll be 0-3 going into the Giants game week four.

Give him all the first team reps that week and let’s get this over with.

I feel bad for you guys who are fired up about Beck and think he’s really our QBOTF, because the Cardinals have found another way to break your heart.
Who is saying he is our QBOTF?

I haven’t seen a single poster say this. Everyone hopes that’s the case but like all draft picks he can be a bust.

Dear lord

:) Don't you hope he works out as our long-term QB?

More than anything. I hope he’s the draft steal of the century.

But my brain says Monti may as well have thrown that draft pick out of his car window on the way to the Cardinals facility.

So I’m ready for when he plays like a rich man’s Clayton tune against the giants in week four. You better be too! :)

Hope Spring is going good for you and the fam 602 and I’ll see you around.

I don't think the Mannings had the clout they have now until Peyton showed he was an all world QB in the NFL. Archie was pretty good, but not a legendary great.

Harry's argument does make alot of sense. Where else is he going to go? From one mess to a different mess?

If not for his kids I doubt 99% of NFL fans would have any idea who Archie Manning is. He’d just be some obscure quarterback from the 70s.

Eli had clout because of Payton.

And I think Eli’s decision to steer clear of a bad franchise was informed by his father’s long but terrible career.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Arch is unwilling to come here. However, he needs to play a lot better to have that kind of pull.

Kyler Murray isn’t the answer to anything except the following trivia question:

“who’s the only NFL quarterback in history to go from first in accuracy on throws over 20 yards in one year to last in accuracy on throws over 20 yards the following year”?

And, Shane, while it’s not impossible he pulls a Jake Plummer and plays well for MIN, if I had to bet on it, I would say he fails because if he does cut it loose and tries to play with max energy he’ll get nicked up.

That was another hugely disappointing issue with Murray is that the slightest contact would put him on the injury report. He’s pretty much made of glass.

Either that or he continues to play like he did for us in 2025.

Even if he does somehow get back to playing something like he did in 2021, what about the fact that he’s super anti clutch when all the chips are in the middle of the table?

I say it’s 1 in 5 he actually leads MIN to a playoff win, and if he does, it will just make me dislike him more because it will be more evidence he half assed while he was here.

So put that in your pipe and smoke it, okay? Don’t blame me for K1 stealing money from us for 2022 - 2025.
Im actually hoping he has a 21esque season...maybe wins a WC game...gets Minnesota all fired up!!
Then he gets a 250mil contract...and goes down week four of the 2027 season with a twisted ankle...comes back three weeks later as the kyler murray we all know and love.... right after the Vikes trade away their youngster they decided they didnt need because kyler was their guy.

I know it sounds petty... but football is a competitive sport, the NFL is a competitive league,...and the NFC is a competitive conference...
Kyler aint going to canton...so success on the field is not too relevant to him I would guess... but like any young dude, he wants to gather stacks...and im sure if he can collect a second bag he will be perfectly happy with how his career played out.

I mean, look at Kirk Cousins.... dude didnt do a damn thing in the NFL except collect checks... got more guaranteed contracts than anybody in the history of the league...without doing squat.
jeezus,....had he passed through cleveland he might have gotten a $500mil guaranteed contract....cousins is one of those guys...he conducted the business of being an NFL QB very well even if it didnt show up on the field. and now he is semi retired in Vegas,...training his replacement and making goofy youtube videos with the kid...
Minne jumped the gun with cousins...gave a guaranteed contract....so there is precedent....would be great if Kyler bends them over the exact same rain barrel.

Um Tune was absolute trash compared to Beck.

This is not a serious comparison on any level.

I think the manning family would kinda like to see him go to the saints... Full circle with Archie Manning tossing the rock for new orleans

according to half the posters on the board monti should throw most of his draft picks out the window on his way to waffle house.
with a QB..situation is so much more important for success..
My only concern with Beck is his age... the experience is good... but when it gets chaotic in the backfield...it seems like the game speeds back up for him...a bit of panic response...and usually age and experience is what fixes that issue... but CB is already 24...
and...
"Hes great as long as you keep him clean"...is a bad thing to be true for a QB...
the greats tend to get better when they are getting knocked around.

At this point it's time to protect Beck as well as the locker room, and pay Brissett. Beck still needs more time, and Brissett did ok with hope of an improved run game, etc.

Are you saying that because one has played in the NFL and one has not?
I’m saying no one thought Tune was anything other than a camp arm coming out of college. He was a nobody and still is.

Beck has played in 2 national championships in college. He is a way better prospect than Tune was and does deserve some optimism from fans.

Could Beck be a bust absolutely but he could also be the guy. Tune never should have been drafted. MO being MO as usual.

This is false

This video aged like milk, but many, many people here had stars in their eyes when looking at Tune.
