Losing is not the same thing as sucking. Incremental progress is a reasonable expectation.
No. This is year freaking four under Monti. I refuse to accept "Well, we lost a bunch of games but at least they were competitive." Monti is in year FOUR. Incremental progress is no longer acceptable. What, are we planning to be competitive in year five? Six? Seven? Starting to sound like the KM drama.

No winning season? Hit the skids, Monti.

Be patient. Monti has a killer 18-year plan for success.... :sarcasm:

we all thought petzing sucked but it was kyler - and petzing could have done better with an o-line - single handedly turning brissett into a record breaking machine - the no name michael wilson into a regular on espn and making mcbride even better - all while going through 8 runningbacks

don't ask me ask the lions - or are we smarter than them too? i had a whole thing i was going to write up about firing the only coordinator doing his job but then we ish canned gannon and hired lafleur - i think lafleur is better than petzing so i scrapped writing about losing petzing

as ive mentioned previously lafleur gets to watch all that game tape - he'll have a improved o-line and jeremiah freakin love to work with - i think we'll improve on offense but offense wasn't the problem at the end - defense was

all we need is for rallis to find the playbook from his first year here - utilizing a disguised blitzer or 2 to go with the 4 man front on critical downs - that's it - we have talent on defense imo - for some stupid reason we got away from what was working - once you start playing not to lose you're funked

7 or 8 wins this year

"below average" is as high as my hopes can go this season

its pretty much a surety to guarantee that the Cards draft outside top QB range in 2027

I can afford it but after 53 years of mostly skank I need some good stuff.
Don't worry, if you have the NFL channel, you can watch the cards replay around two or three in the morning....if they win, and you live in South America and it's not raining :(

i won't say prepare yourselves but it could happen - we've seen both sides of the ball be successful with who we have (just not at the same time) - haven't really lost anyone aside from cc

our defense is nuts - it's been stated several times by several posters - our defense declined in year #3 and that was after monti concentrated on improving it - monti added the best talents available thru free agency and the draft and that ass still somehow came out flat

make it make sense? i can't do that but we all saw what happened in real time - the influx of talent created a false trust - arizona tried to morph into philly by only sending 4 - instead of getting to the qb by any means we sat back and got carved the funk up

how in the world did rallis keep his job? i have my suspicions - namely gannon getting the blame - because i think rallis got to do as he pleased in his first season then gannon got involved - i don't know any of this - it's all speculation from a hippie on a couch

if rallis goes back to being aggressive i think we still have the guys upfront to do it - i think the season exit interviews with players may have exonerated rallis - key players like budda baker who got to personally blitz his ass off in rallis' first year

all im saying is if we get back to the schemes that were working - we have the personnel

offense is nuts too - setting nfl records while going on insane losing streaks - make that make sense? this one's easier

we ran 87 running backs due to injury - our aforementioned defense getting neutered and brissett sucking at the end of games (albeit under extreme attack)

now we have a good looking running back room - 5 guys i like - one with the possibly of being great - the play action alone is going to make brissett better - he might get 3 seconds to throw a deep ball

i can go on about mcbride and wilson and mhj but this is a cards site who's more concerned with the o-line (as am i) - i think we've improved there and they'll look better in some disguised offensive designs - teams knew what we were goung to do last year - that brings us to lafleur

lafleur gets to learn from everything petzing put on display - and there was a lot - petzing experimented his ass off with no running game and a pocket qb but never really had the time for the deep ball

lafleur and love - a hopefully(?) improved o-line and brissett in year #2 with mcbride and wilson - i keep trying to type mhj but he wasn't striking fear in anyone but himself - hoping he balls out this year but khaman

so that's it - my reasoning for why we might not be amongst the bottom - maybe around .500 but wtf knows with this club
I don’t disagree at all with your take, but let me simplify it for you. Our 3-14 record last year came as a result of massive INJURIES and too many injuries to overcome. End of story. If we stay relatively healthy, we can be a very good team. If we don’t, we’ll struggle.

The only records Brissett won were garbage time stats. He is a TERRIBLE QB who is just lucky he is post Kyler since everyone hates Kyler so he gets a free pass for being absolute dogshite

Unless I find a sweet deal for Sunday Ticket I won't be watching many Cards games. First time ever but they have to prove themselves to me.
You have a friend with Youtube TV and the ticket. Theyll share. Thank god I do. The pirate streaming suuuuuuuucks.

You're joking, right? Our running game was bad before the injuries. Our defense, especially the D-line and pass rush, was bad before the injuries. Our QB was bad period. Freaking Monti purposefully made our starting OL injured out of the gate with Hern as our starting OG.

We would have been better than 3-14 without all the injuries, no denying. Would that have made us 6-11? 7-10, maybe? We still wouldn't have been good.

Can this team have NFL average health?

Is MLF is an upper tier offensive game planner / caller?

Setting aside it will be the same coordinator, can the D be below average but not terrible?

if the answers to all three of the above is yes, then this will an interesting, competitive team that wins 6-8 games.
