On on the same page PACardsfan.

Coaching and Personnel departments that have been in place for a few years have a better handle on the available talent pool over a newbie staff. When it comes to finding someone to ‘plug-and-play’ those mature O and D’s pro-coaches know who to bring in. A mature program develops communication lines with other coaches (college level) and can pick up the phone for referrals when it comes time to shop for replacements.

The large number of injuries overwhelmed the ability to find street FA’s who could come in and play. Knute Rockne and Vince Lombardi would have trouble coaching up the walking wounded roster. In addition, the current Players Agreement limits the pad time once the regular season starts. All those replacements brought in were not getting contact during practice and it showed during games.

JG was overly ambitious with the playbook on D, Recall he pulled the starting D players and had them getting attention as a unit during preseason.. Because the ‘starters’ were off getting schooled, later when the replacement guys had to start they did not have camp time with the 1st unit. It showed especially with our D-player caller. When our vet went down, we had a rookie 'wearing the dot' and trying to make the playcalls and adjustments. Too many times, the adjustments were either not made or not ‘correct.’ That complex D with adjustments made pre-snap were not possible. As the year progressed, LB Simon got better at the job. By that time, the Titanic was going bow-up.

Vets like Buddha were having to cover for the mistakes in coverage made by the CB group—on too many plays, you’d see Buddha trying to come across the field and make the save.

At this point of the season, that Injury list is a legitimate REASON for the awful record. We will see soon enough when our walking wounded return to health and are back on the field if it becomes an EXCUSE for last year. We went from 4 wins to 8 wins with year 3 prospects of going over .500 and maybe the playoffs. That improvement progression was sidetracked by injuries. Let’s see if a healthy roster continues the improvement track or simply verifies that 3-14 record as a true reading of the team.

Besides seeing KM out the door and allowing CC and Thompson to walk, MO did not make any major player changes. We are into year 4 with his guys, his roster. Is Beck the answer at QB? Can JB be more than a backup and mentor? Let’s see some ‘KW-ML’ head-to-head for our starter.
Outstanding post!

Question that I don't know the answer to, how many GMs have hired 2 head coaches within 4 years? Without outside forces. Just based on performance.
Trent Balke hired three between 2021 and 2025 with the Jags (Urban Meyer, Pederson, and Coen now)

Nick Caserio hired three in three seasons until he landed on Ryan’s with the Texans.

We replaced kyler with a stellar runningback..
Runningback Smelly!!
Explosive ground game. You been screaming for it for decades... it's about to happen...
The Thesmal Dream Season of 2026 is on the horizon brother!!
Yay, but still nobody talking about what Kyler and love would run like together - is it taboo ? I mean ddddddamn - I don’t know why cards would cut km for any of these QBs? Has high career production , healthy again - already paid 1/3 of salary cap for him. Live arm, make every throw. just think it was stupid - have not heard a good enough reason to cut Kyler? Just toxic media that flipped immediately as he took over the Vikings - for free

I love love , Bensen, jc - not sure about ag yet.
But can’t believe they pulled the tablecloth from under km and spilt the gourmet food all over the field

Kyler's guaranteed money escalates every year. If you hold him for the 2026 season (or even past march 2026) the team would owe him a ton of extra guaranteed money for 2027.

I was tired of Murray and his agent's antics. Good riddance! He may surprise us and play the whole season and take them to the playoffs but I don't care. We needed to move on.

Let's just say, hypothetically, the only game you watched was the Cards v Rams playoff game.......would you still be all gooy gaga for Murray? And don't come back with it was just one game...that was an epiphany of his future NFL career.
He was great in HS, because he was better than most, same with college. But the NFL is filled with the best and he was just ok. If he's smart, he'll be rich for life.

Agreed! He provided a lot of excitement and entertainment until he ran his course. Like I said, I was tired of his antics and that is coming from an OU Fan when I watched him and rooted for him. If he plays well for the Vikings, I think O'Connell deserves the coach of the year award, hands down.

Seven years was more than enough. Should have never "given him his bag." Should have made him wait for the contract or sit out. Paid him early and paid dearly. Was never "the guy."

I don't think we will see Love running down the field and then throw himself to the ground in the fetal position anytime soon.

Good riddance to KM.

Because nobody cares about Kyler. Whining about Kyler isn't going to receive any play. Read the room.

All the replies before are fan base and media driven toxic ******** , one brought up the crappy playoff game - true crime- but it is still all emotional sour grapes, smaller then many fanbases have to put up with players - Kyler is not a bust - only 2 QBs out produced for the cardinals - and both would have fell by the end of his current expensive contract. And love will not fall in the fetal position I hope. There is no football evaluation that gives any reason to dump him or his contract. Marino ? Fouts? Many many examples, this fan base and listening to this toxic media AZ media flopping around - national media piling on for clicks - you know people that are wrong way more then they are right - and get paid for it. It’s ******** - now they say KM takes over the Vikings and has a great run with anybody else in the NFL. KM would replace many starting QBs in the NFL - prior- current - future.
And that’s why I say it was stupid - time will tell

I don't believe anyone is questioning or challenging your admiration of Murray. It's just that whether you believe it was right or wrong, the fact is Kyler is no longer a cardinal. This is an Arizona Cardinal forum so discussing him is no longer relevant. I suggest that you should check out the Vikings forum if you want to follow him. I checked it out to see what the fan base reaction was.....and then I got 6 weeks of Vikings football news stories and believe me, Viking fans are much harsher than anything you see here.

Really lit a 3rd round pick on fire by wasting it on this guy.
I dunno. Can he be as useful as Gardner Minshew in two years? If so, he’s FINE.

Holy smokes Colt McCoy started 21 games for the Browns after the drafted him in the third round. He went 6-15 in those starts.

Always broke Kyler down into game sections. He will amaze you for 5-6 games a year. He will make you pull your hair out 5-6 games a year, and he’s average for the rest.

I disagree -I think he did quite a lot - was not supported when run game fell completely apart - including the toss away before the goal line that clearly broke the back of any effort -
He was blamed and scapegoated - evidenced by Brisset playing his tail off while accumulating losses.
I can’t believe all the piling on and on and on -
Now it’s happening with Beck imo. Listen to everybody - just look at them.
Have not seen a legitimate reason to cut and eat 52 million - beyond slobbering emotional appeal by fans and menus.
None - may not have produced wanted results - but didn’t earn being cut at that price.

Apparently the people that know him the best, see him behind closed doors, and get paid for making these decisions, saw enough. They aren’t cutting him because a few fans on ASFN wanted him gone. This isn’t the cowboys or Steelers fan base. We wield zero influence.
